The first experts advice to check ebay or amazon for the belt drive I need is useless. I had already tried this approach.Does any expert know how to locate a drive belt for the rotating brush on a Black & Decker SV3000 Floorbuster cordless upright vacuum

  • ludwig_g Aug 28, 2010

I found the part I needed by doing a search on google. The search identified a website which showed an exploded view of all floorbuster parts and allowed me to order the rotating brush drive belts that I needed. The site is eReplacementParts.com. I don't know if the site you recommended would work as well.

Well if you go with ereplacementparts they are a reputable and respected dealer and it does have everything you need. I see they have almost every part you need. If you just need the drive belt i would go with them. if you need more parts such as the pulley or the drive motor, they are also your best bet. As i see on google they have over a 1000 votes and have a 92% positive feedback rating. For future reference you can also use universal drive belts on this motor that are the same size. They are something you can pick up at most hardware stores that sell vacuum belts. If you need help locating further parts or assistance on how to install the parts please let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. Midwest-tek

Without the make or model... We are speaking in GROSS GENERALITIES... but

ELECTRICAL Trouble...
The light & the BRUSH not working ... when considered TOGETHER.. would indicate a NEED to check your electrical connections...

My best advise would be to:
make sure the cords & wands are fully connected
make sure the (HEAD) motor is running ...

If the motor (brush head) is running... belt looks good and brush is not seized (or jammed)...

You will need to look to the DRIVE PULLEY on the motor OUT-PUT shaft...

Hope this helps

Tip

Change the belt

You need a phillips screwdriver with a good point because the screws are small. Dirt is goning to fall out,so be ready.---O.K.-- I usually sit on a folding chair outside with the vac upside-down on my lap & the handle between my legs. The screws you must remove are located in recessed holes around the brushes & back towards the wheels. These hold on the base plate.Take this off & the drive shaft should be visible. The beater bar (brushes) should slide straight out towards you. (You may want to look for clogs & generally clean this area now.) Loop the new belt over the end of the beater bar nearest the drive shaft & line it up with the gap in the brissles, then slide the beater bar back in place. Now's the hard part--Hold the beater bar in & pull the belt straight back over the drive shaft--Make sure it's on all the way & lined up straight with no kinks or twists. Replace the baseplate (Don't over tighten the screws or they will strip out & not hold) &you're done.

Brush not spinning and motor surging and not picking up

does the motor surge when you push it back & forth or when you raise & lower the brush end of vacuum?
if so it sounds like it needs a new belt installed.
the belt should be routinely changed every 12 months (some need to be changed sooner) do to the belt stretching.
changing the belt to see if that changes how vacuum operates is a cheep & easy fix.

Need to replace belt and cannot figure how to take it apart to get at the belt --- Took Screws off on the bottom but could not get to the belt

You have already removed the screws so lift the brush cover off. Then grasp rotating floor brush at both ends and lift. Clean strings, hair and other debris from rotating brush, paying close attention to the brush ends. Clean the debris from motor pulley and drive belt areas.Grasp old drive belt and remove from motor pulley. Place new drive belt over motor pulley and stretch other end over rotating floor brush in the space between the bristles. Place the ends of the rotating floor brush down into slots on the sides. Turn the rotating floor brush by hand several times in the direction of motor pulley. If installed properly, drive belt will center itself on rotating brush. Reposition brush cover and screw back into place. I hope that this helps you!

Anyone know why my Bissell Proheat 2X Turbo Model 9300's brushes won't turn anymore

If the Brushes don't rotate, & you have two brushes; 1). Turn unit on side. ( Make sure unit is up-pluged) 2). Rotate the front brush roller, if the second roller moves at same time, 3). Locate a small ribbed belt that goes from the further back roller, to a small ribbed pully. (Gates belt #177-3m5) ( on side under a clear cover) The belt may not be broken, but may have carpet fuzz / lint covering the belt ribs, causing the belt to slip. If that belt is OK and you find that the small pully doesn't turn the belt/rollers, the problem is with a small internal direct drive motor, that drives the brush rollers. At this point return the unit, as Bissell has a design defect & is using cheap parts.

Belt installation

You will have to slip the belt over the motor shaft and strech it down to the brush roll that should be loosened from the bearing rest, slip it over the brush and strech brush back into position.

The top comes off to get to the belt and brush roll. Did you check the brush roll to make sure that the ends turn freely, or is one not turning, the belt is a lon life "U" part #61120A. The brush roll is what drives the vacuum, but if brush roll or belt is bad, then it won't drive it.
