check in BIOS , is Realtek Audio ENABLED or not, if not then enable it, all would work fine. if this not solves then try uninstalling the driver of the device and after restart try installing the one with which it was working fine. also try checking with other audio output devices.

Here is a youtube video how to change the boot order:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrk0t8IuY88

In the BIOS Setup program, the user can choose to boot from a hard drive, optical drive, removable drive, or the network.
The default setting is for the optical drive to be the first boot device, the hard drive second, removable drive third, and the network fourth.
Remember to save your settings, when leaving the bios.
If the boot order change when you power off, the cmos battery must be renewed:

The battery is a watch type Cr 2032, and cost a few dollars.
Remember to place the new battery, as shown on the picture.

Good luck

Sound card is not showing on device manager

ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R58182.EXE
Thats the link to your audio driver. Try installing that and see if it fixes your issue. If it doesn't, then the sound card on your motherboard may be defective, or the sound is turned off in the BIOS.

Intel dg31pr board says have no audio device

I spent months trying to figure this one out on my own PC. I finally have the solution. Go to device manager (right click my computer, go to properties, Then hardware, then device manager. Click on the"+"  in front of system devices. Find "microsoft uaa bus driver for high defintion audio". Right click that and select, "disable". Then right click it again and "unintstall" the device. This will allow you to install the audio drivers on your disc, or ones you have downloaded to install without an error message. Once done install your audio drivers and restart your PC and windows should start dectecting your new hardware. An installation wizzard pops up. Install the files needed yourself from a specific location, not a disk. It will ask for location of file name "hdaudbus.sys". That file is in C:/Windows/System32 folder. If it's not there, which it should be, just find and download that one file but it should already be there. I have done all this on xp home ed, sp3. I now have sound, and my front audio panel works. Please let me know if you have any problems by emailing me at chadmon10@hotmail.com

Did you get an error message during install of the (system with the SATA 160GB drive)? Make sure the 160GB drive is shown in the bios. Than go to the title, Boot in the bios & make sure the SATA 160GB is listed in the boot order. (Preferred 3rd. boot device)
Please go to the SATA drive's manufactures site & download either their bootable floppy or CD setup software. (It’s free)! Use their software to setup the FAT & cluster size on the drive. You can even set other features that neither the bios or windows can do. Format the 160GB drive with the software as well. The manufacture's software does a better job than windows. If the 160GB drive is a SATA 2.0 leave the jumper on the drive alone. The Desktop Board supports four Serial ATA channels (3.0 GB/s) via ICH7, connecting one device per channel.
Again, please run the manufactures setup software for your SATA 160GB drive. (Disconnect any other drives that may be in the system until windows is installed).

Audio device is not working

I have been working on this for months and finally got everything including front audio panel going. First Download the latest realtek audio drivers available  from intel's website or go here and download #3 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2839&OSFullName=Windows%2A+XP+Home+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go%21. Next goto control panel and add/remove programs then look for realtek audio drivers that have been previously installed. Remove program if one is found. Then go to device manager (right click my computer, go to properties, Then hardware, then device manager.
