It plays a new song when I press the On button it goes on (6 notes, sort of a racier version of "Good to the last Drop") It runs thru the green screen and then goes to a picture of the tomtom and stays there. Now that it has been reset( finding the btumm was quite a challenge) when I push the off button it goes to a silver screen but will not shut off. It will not shut off without resetting it.
Thanks for your help.

connect to tomtom home. check if any updates available. install if any available. start the unit, when turned on completely press and hold the reset button for atleast 8 secs and then go outside under the open skies and see what happens.
try this it worked for me , hold down the reset button on the bottom of the tom tom down for 15 seconds then when done hold down the power button for 5 seconds , the tom tom will reboot from bios , as i said it worked for me good luck
nope im afraid you will have to cough up for the new maps (map corrections etc will only show new one way directions, and new or adjusted POIs), might be a good idea to wait till brand new maps are available before you splash any cash, good luck
In the box you have a 'desktop' mount. Looks like the windscreen mount without the ******. Also you will have got a mains power lead. Plug the lead into the 'desktop mount' (Left hand side) of the stick up bit. Plug in and put your 910 onto the mount. It will 'Click' into place The green light will shine to show it's charging.
To release the unit from the mount PRESS in the button in the middle of the screen top rim and lift off.
Remember to turn of the power at the socket to stop wasting electricity
The usb part of the desktop mount goes into your pc so you can connect to TomTom home or just plain old 'back it up' It is ok to have power switched on or off when connect to the pc, there is no need to unplug the jackplug.
