Question about Air Tools & Compressors

Open Question

I own a model A IR 231 air impact wrench that suffered an open stuck trigger. I took the body apart to try to fix the problem. The trigger is now free but in my haste I did not observe the assembly order of the various parts. Is there an assembly diagram that I may refer to and is there a refresher kit that will bring the 231 up to max torque? Thank you.

take it to a servce centre for air tools ,there is a little neoprene or plasic o ring right up in trigger area ,that gets brittle and starts to break up. bugger of a job, why waste aday they wll do it in a flash (sort of) youdoit

Make sure you have at least 90 pounds of air and if you do you need to oil the wrench air tool oil pour some in the where the air line hooks up ..air tools need to be oiled daily cause compressed air cause water vapors to build up when you use it and then when it sits it begins to rust a bit and the oil stops this ...

STUCK TRIGGER


The I.R. 2135Ti or TiMAX has some known issues with the trigger o-ring (item# 22A) swelling, the throttle valve (item# 28D) bending or breaking, and the throttle valve seal (item# 28E) wearing out or deteriorating. Procedure wise you should not be able to remove the trigger without first removing the inlet bushing assembly (item# 26) the reason is that the reverse valve (item# 24) keeps the throttle valve from tipping forward and releasing the trigger, there is a slot for the stem of the throttle valve to slide into.

When reassembling the tool first install the inlet bushing assembly and then install the trigger, make sure to lube the o-ring before inserting.

Model 734 1/2 in impact.wont blow air ,wont rotate,no tension on trigger.feel like problem may somehow be in trigger housing....


Yes, if you take it apart you'll find that the trigger isn't allowing air to pass through to the veins of the impact wrench. It's a relatively simple mechanism, where maybe something is broken inside.

If it were blowing air but the veins were stuck, I would say, lubricate it. But, if no air goes through it at all, then the trigger housing houses the problem part.

Have you tried to disassemble the air wrench?

My impact wrench when connected to the airhose stay on even though the trigger isnt pressed


you probably have rust and goo in the line and it has stuck the trigger open,run some air tool oil in and let it soak or better yet some penetrating oil to break up the sludge and then when cleaned out use the air tool oil to lube it

try going to irtechpubs.com nd under industrial tools you will find your model number and can download a breakdown for it. Let me know if you have trouble, I went thru about 15 sites before I found it.

My ir 223 impact trigger doesnt work ,,,I took it apart ,the pin tha goes thru the body is there but the pin in the airlet is missing and it must be missing a spring too ,it just wants to run wide open all...


You can purchase a repair kit from Ingersol that will have the spring and pin. You will need to make sure the fitting on the inlet that has the screen installed is still there or the pin and spring will come out again

No pressure when pulling trigger, trigger sticks in handle body


if air sound comes out when you press trigger your pressure regulator pin is stuck-oil gun and attach hose repeate until pin frees or remove pin and clean with brake kleaN oil and replace
