Try this out:

Some printers require time to turn on. These printers may or may not give feedback in the form of blinking light(s). Wait up to a minute for the power light to come on before proceeding with the steps below. Instructions If the printer uses a power adapter (module), follow the instructions below. If the printer uses only a power cord, see the section below entitled “ If the printer uses only a power cord .” If the printer uses a power module Follow the steps below to ensure power is properly supplied to the printer:
  1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to ensure the proper power adapter is being used.
  2. Disconnect the power cord or adapter from the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect the printer data cable from the printer.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the power module and reconnect the power cord to the power module. This may not be necessary if the power module has a permanently attached power cord.
  6. Reconnect the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead. NOTE: "The HP Photosmart 8100, 8400, and HP Deskjet 6000 series printer power cords feature a green LED built into the power plug. If the LED is not glowing, the power module may have failed. Proceed to step 7 below.
  7. If the printer still will not turn on or the power LED built into the power cord is not glowing, plug the printer into a wall outlet in another room. If the printer or power LED turns on when connected to an electrical outlet in another room, there is a problem with the power in the original room.
  8. If there is still no power to the printer, then the power module, cord, or printer may be defective. Try the power module/cord on another HP Deskjet or Photosmart printer, of the same model if possible, to see if the power module is functioning. If the power LED is still not glowing, the power module may be defective. Replace the power module and cord.
  9. If the power module/cord works on the other printer, then this printer is defective. Service your printer.
  10. If you cannot determine whether the problem is the printer or the power module/cord, or if another printer is not available to test with, replace the power module/cord first. If this does not resolve the issue, service your printer.

Red vertical line on the screen due to external shock


This is most likely caused by the cable on the T-CON board being bent out of place by the shock.
If you know how to work on electronics or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.

DO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT.

REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE WALL. REMOVE INPUT signal cable from set.
REMOVE THE POWER CABLE FROM THE SET.
>Lay the set down on a flat cloth covered surface.
>Remove the back cover.
>Remove the shield covering T-CON board. This small board is located in the center near the top.
>Move the cable(s) connected to the T-CON around.
> Set the tv upright and make sure it is stable.

DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ON THE BACK
.
ATTACH INPUT SIGNAL cable to set.
ATTACH THE POWER CORD TO THE SET.
PLUG THE POWER CORD INTO THE WALL.
>Use the remote to turn the set on. If the vertical lines are gone, THEN TURN the set OFF.
REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE WALL.
REMOVE THE POWER CORD FROM THE SET. Remove signal cable.
> Lay tv back down on table.
CAREFULLY REPLACE THE SHIELD over the T-CON.

Replace the back cover etc.
Now you can reconnect the input cable and power cord.
SOMETIMES THE IMAGES can get worst and you have to repeat moving the cable around. In the worst case you can dis-connect and re-connect the flat cable WITH THE SET UNPLUGGED.

I believe the T-CON may sometimes be called LVDS and look similar to;

Printer will not turn on


Hey this is tbirdfan1 the samme thing happned to me all of the sudden the chat room ended this is getting wierd i will contact the main people for this ok i am very sorry about this

I have a gateway desktop computer. Recently moved


Before you actually replace the power supply, check some other things first:
1. Wall socket
2. Power strip/surge protector
3. Power cable
4. On the back of the computer, where the power cable plugs into, is the red switch set to 115? It should be 115.
5. Make sure that the power cable is not connected to a regular extension cord. Power cable must plug directly into a surge protector that is not daisy-chained to another power strip, surge protector, or normal (household) extension cord. Surge protector must be directly plugged into wall socket.

If none of the above solve the problem, open up the case and ensure that all power connections are secure. Also check ALL other components' connections. Any loose connections can cause problems for you.

If everything is secure and the problem persists, replace the power supply.

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone


I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

My Gateway FPD1950 Monitor Will Not Power Up After Being Moved


Here's a link to the HP support site for your monitor, where there are instructions for troubleshooting this problem. But check first to be sure you haven't inadvertently switched the power switch on the monitor off. Then try another power cable if you have one, try plugging directly into the wall instead of a power strip, etc. Jiggle the cable connection on the back of the monitor.
Here's another article that may help you to determine if the monitor has in fact gone bad.
I hope not, as I have the same monitor and have enjoyed it for its clarity and resolution...But I once had a power supply go out when I moved to a new room. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but it happens, I suppose.

Won't power on

  • If the product uses a power module (adapter), go to Step two: Check if power is supplied from the power module.
  • If the product uses only a power cord, go to Step three: Check if power is supplied from the power cord.If the product uses a power module (adapter), follow these steps to make sure that power is properly supplied to the product. Figure 3: Power module c00745315.gif
    1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to make sure that the proper power module is being used.
    2. If the power module has a permanently attached power cord, do the following.

      • If the power module or power cord works on the other product, the product facing the issue might be defective. Proceed to Step four: Service the product.

RCA 36' tube tv won't turn on


possible that a fuse blew while transferring tv, most like to happen despite care in handling if tv was on for a while, kind of like moving a light bulb that is hot and suddenly filament breaks when you move the bulb slightly. Other than that I'd say it's a good time to get a new tv just in time too for the digital transition.
