Hi.

D:5f08 5e02 means that main board encountered a problem controlling the lens motor.

If problem happens sporadically, it can be corrected turning on the camera with lens facing down, or helping the lens out. If the camera does not focus , it must be repaired.
Call Olympus and have it fixed, they are aware of the problem.

Hello Pilgrim1021

Can you please do the following.

Please put your ear to the body of the camera and switch it on and off. Now , put your ear near the lens and check to see if the sound is coming from the lens.

I have a suspicion so please come back to me with where you heard the sound so I can know for sure what the problem is.

Kind Regards
StephanSA

Base from the description of your problem there can be some sand that may got inside the lens part of it , try doing these steps. Press the power button. While the lens is going in and out, open the battery cover. The lens should go out fully. Close the battery cover when prompted and you should be up and running.

Dear quilinpark,
Looks like the lens motor is not functioning very well.
Take your camera to the nearest canon service center and get it tested and repaired.

Aperture ring won't turn

When the camera is set to autofocus, let the camera do the focusing. If you want to focus manually, turn off the autofocus so you can turn the focusing ring.

The lens won't come out - it makes a buzzing noise but won't open. Like it's jammed?? Olympus FE-46

Hi.

This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed. What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.
Good luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Weird noises when it's on and zoom button noise picked up on vid

change auto focus to single focus mode,
since it is on continuous auto focus on default, it would focus all the time so you don't need to click half way before taking a picture

Focus Error

It's a message given when the internal lenses get jammed, possibly due to debris within the gears that move the focus. The "Focus Error" message can involve many FujiFilm models.
