Not knowing which monitor that you have I will have to be a bit general. If the cable disconnects from the back of the monitor then you can simply replace the cable with another vga cable. If the cable does not disconnect then my best advice is to look at the other end of the cable and get the pin out from the controller board on that end. Unfortunately that procedure would require opening up the monitors case.

The above link will also help as a reference. However keep in mind that some of the colors may not match. Which is why you would need to check the other end of the cable to be sure. Good luck.

Compaq 5500 vga 15 pin color code

The only reason you would need the color code is because you cut off the VGA connector and lost it. The reality is that you would need a monitor that was the same make and model and manufacturing plant to see the color code. Here is a link to the VGA pin-out. You would need to find a service manual that would define the connector inside the monitor. Opening CRT monitors is very dangerous. I would recommend against it. I have looked at a cable I have that had a removable shell and the Red pin was red the Blue was blue and Green was green. all the rest where other colors or multicolor

The monitor is not working right it has been just sitting 4 about 2 yrs and the color is all wrong

Hello Lorilkelley, Hi, check first your VGA cable, see if the cable is snug and tight, as you adjust or loosen the cable at the back of your PC look at the monitor and see if the colors go back to normal. if it does, its probably a loose or defective vga cable. BTW, is your VGA cable fixed on the monitor back or there is a connector, if there is a connector like the one on the back of the PC, try to loosen or tighten the connector, see if the colors go back. if the cable is fixed, try to wiggle the end and see if the colors change, if it does you have to live with it.

I have a 1998 ford escort zx2 four cylinder an i just put a stater on it an while i was putting it on i accidentally broke a red and yellow wire on the harness an i dont know were it suppose to go it split...

all wires in a cars harness are color coded so now carefully cut the tape back until you find the leads and then repair them. you will need to use wire connectors don't just twist them together. by the way those are the solenoid wires.

The Envision H170L Monitor VGA cable.

the Envision H170L Monitor uses an interface 1.0x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15). The same VGA cable wildly use in different computer brands..I was wondering why you have not found a replace for that cable. It can be purchase from any computer store.

If you are planning on cutting the wires and solder it together that would be easy if you have the diagrams of the pin numbering for male VGA connector and the female VGA connector. Check first this diagrams and follow strictly the coding of the wire so that it would be successful when connecting it together.

It is also better if after you solder the wire, you will use an shrinkable tube on the connection. Cover the whole sections of interconnected wires with shrinkable tube before you use the vga cable.

NEED TO PUT A NEW END ON THE CABLE THAT ATTATCHES TO MY DESKTOP

Don't attempt this unless you're comfortable with soldering. Be very careful, because hooking the pins up wrong could damage your monitor, your computer or both. You'll need a male VGA connector and a shell for it. Cut off the old connector and strip away the outer insulation on the cable so you can see what color cables go to which pins, then just make the same connections to the new VGA plug. Double-check everything--you may only get one shot at this.

How do I find and replace the vga cable? (It is hardwired to the back of the monitor.)

I got hold of an old vga cable (15 pin), cut off the male end. I then cut the existing cable comming out of the monitor. After soldering the wires together and lots of electrical tape wala - it works.

Now the problems I incured - Don't solder wires together based on color, they probably will not match. Peel back the ends of the cut off connectors and find each pin with a Multimeter. Once you find each wires match solder them carefully and tape. When done test and if good place a short splint on the spliced area and tape. This will keep the wires from breaking from movement. Good luck.

13pins "from the inside monitor" "to the VGA 15 pins connector

hai dear,
i checked your problem and found that you open the cover of monitor and you find the two jack of data cable in main pcb and neck card( 2 connector of data cable).plz you cut the connector of data cable and you will find 8 wires in connector.related red(invild extra ground),green(invild extra ground),blue(invild extra ground),black gnd, white, orange, gold(extra gnd) and now you cut the red wire, you will find two wires.so you refix the main red wire pin no-1 of connector and red gnd pin no-6,green main wire pin no-2 and green gnd pin no-7,main blue wire pin no-3 and blue gnd pin no-8.check for the horizental sync and vertical sync wire you should go in main pcb which invild the other connector. there is present in print, h- sync(two wire of h- sync main wire in pin no-13 and other pin no-5) and ver.-sync wire in pin no-14.first you will check the whose h-sync and vert-sync in color and now finally other wires will fix any pin of connector.

Dell dimension monitor output broke away from motherboard and now i get no output to monitor to "wake it up", nevermind being able to see anything on it. As soon as i unplug the monitor cable from the pin...

Depending on how much it has broke away, you may be able to resolder it back on, or find someone who can. Other than that it will be a new board, I suspect.

It seems at least a few connections are OK, so probably worth a try, before scrapping it.
