I have a panasonic KX-TG6051CM 5.8 phone with 3 handsets. After less than a year 2 of the 3 handsets developed the same problem, almost in the same time ( a couples of hours apart). The battery indicator shows low battery and is charging continuously even though the battery is fully charged ( when i swap the battery with my 3rd handset, the battery indicator shows fully charged and works fine ). The handsets were never dropped, never used in a moisture ladden environment ( like bathroom ) and when not in use they were kept in the charger. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-T7668 Name Display
I just managed to do this on my own phone.
Press programme button, enter programme number (**1234), using the up down arrows move to number 004 which should be xtension name. Press clear, to delete any information, then enter new name using keypad. When complete press enter in the middle of the up down keys, pick up and reset handset and it should be stored.

I'm guessing the phone is 8 years old and you spilled something into the keystrip.
Start by unplugging it to see if it resets. Then, look for a mechanical failure (sticky buttons, broken buttons, etc.). Some alcohol and a Q-Tip will clean the buttons, or carefully take the phone apart and wash out the housing.
Last, but not least, any of the new 7730/31/35/36 phones will replace that set.

The closest that I could find was kx-tg1031. Perhaps you will have better results. All of these are in english.

Return to the manufacturer for replacement. I've spent hours on this and have had my line tested. It's a base station fault.
