Same problem here. Everything was fine until a power outage from a storm. No power to the LED panel or any other part. Tried looking for a reset. Manual & online support didn't help. Didn't hurt anything else plugged into the same suppresor. Tried straight outlet, everything. Give it a cremation? Thanks in advance...

Either the power switch or the power supply have failed.
Hard to determine without knowing the make or model though

If you got hit with a power surge from a lightning strike, it can come into a device from the AC outlet OR the telephone line. I suspect the modem (needed for FAX) section of your machine is fried. If this is in a home office, you should really have a 'whole house' surge protector installed to avoid business interruptions.
We have the Intermatic IG-1300-2T; for 4 telephone line protection it is : IG-1300-4T
Simple to install in the main breaker box and both include 5 years of insurance for losses of $10,000.
You can see them here:
Intermatic Surge Arrestors
The 4 line model (4T) is currently on sale.

My phone line is ok as i have sent and recived phone call using a plain ordinary telephone however i cant send or recive faxs. if anyone has any ideas i would be greatful

If your fax machine has a handset pick up the handset and see if you get "dial-tone" thro the handset of the Fax machine. If you don't then you may have lost the (NCU) pcb, You should always install a fax machine on a "surge-protector" to protect both the Hydro and the Fax line. **The silly thing to check is to make sure the fax line is being plugged into the "line" plug on the back of your machine.

The printer carriage gets stuck on the left side of fax.

If it is connected to a surge protector, then i will suggest u to connect it directly to a wall outlet as some times it does not get enough power supply. Because surge protector divides the total power supply among the products those are connected to it...Try this and still if it does not work.....

After power outage, does not print confirmation report after faxing

I hope your fax is on a "surge Protector" providing protection for both Hydro and telephone line.
Use your operators manual to check setting of Confirmation Report as it can be set to OFF/ON. Proceedure varys by Manufacturer and model.

No power nothing comes on

Did the prob happen after the power went out(storm) and came back on.
Do you have the machine on a surge protector.???
For $20 you can protect you fax machine from hydro and phone line damage.....if you get a surge you lose a surge protector..NOT YOUR FAX MACHINE.

Lexmark x340 error:''917.01 service transfer error''

Is the printer connected straight into the wall outlet? Make sure it is. Do not use any UPS or surge protector. The most likely cause is a faulty HVPS. It may also indicate a problem in the transfer roll area. You may need to have that replaced.

WONT POWER ON when plugged into a known good power source

This is from the FAQ on a similar model (the 770). My guess is that it won't be much help, but who knows... : The machine is not receiving a power signal. Make sure the power cord is plugged securely to the power outlet. If a surge protector or an extension cord is being used, disconnect them and plug the fax machine's power cord directly to the power outlet. If the fax machine is still not receiving a power signal, try plugging the machine's power cord into a different outlet on another circuit breaker. Good luck
