Drum rattles

If you are sure there are no loose items in or behind the drum, check if the drum is loose (wobble it by hand). Sometimes the bolts holding it to the drive wheel get loose, or the bearing goes.

Drum turns but sounds like a small metal object, possibly a screw, banging around inside . Continued to use and now sound is much louder and sounds like a bigger object.

DRYER MAKES NOISES.

The pulleys or rollers. Check for cracks, dryness, or damage and not engaging drum properly. Sometimes u can use high density gear grease to re oil/grease them.

The bearings TEST by moving drum by hand u may be able to feel loose or rough movement. And listen to sounds when turning it.

The belt loose or worn can make funny noises

The glides on drum worn and making metal to metal contact.

CHECK FOR LOOSE BELLOES inside the drum

Sometimes an item can get stuck inbetween the drum and the housing and scrape and grind making funny noises, things like coins, bra wire, nails, hair pins, etc sometimes u can just remove the cabinet and observe by turning the drum by hand or looking for scratch or scrape marks on housing.

My washer model fjs1397w wont move through a wash cycle or spin drum wont go around on any cycle , tried moving it around by hand will not do anything

if you are unable to turn the drum by hand it may have ceased due to a sock or item of clothing jammed in it behind the drum this in turn may have snapped the belt

Amana electric dryer ALE643RBW drum wont turn and is very dificult to move by hand

it could be the rear drum bearing(if equipped),the rollers that support the drum have dried up and won't turn, bad drum glides(if equipped) or the motors bearings could be tightening up from lack of oil in the bearings, you need to remove the top and front covers to inspect for all these issues

How do I get a frozen drum to break loose? I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500.

These can be tough to get off. as they like to sieze around the axle flange. I use an air hammer with a flat bit and rattle around the center hub on the drum which usually will shake them loose but if you don't have that tool then I would spray penetrating oil around where the axle hub protrudes through the drum and around each wheel stud as the oil will creep down behind the drum and help loosen the rusty grip it has on the axle. It can take quite a while for the oil to creep in there [an hour or so] Once you have the drum loose it often will catch next on the brake shoes [due to a lip that wears on the outer edge of the drum] as you try to slide it off. If that happens you have to manually loosen up the brake shoes a bit through the inspection plug on the backside of the brake backing plate. The bad news is that sometimes the adjuster is stuck and won't move or there isn't even an inspection hole to start with which makes it very difficult to work the drum off over the shoes.

My Candy automatic washing machine will not spin

Try the drive belt from motor to the drum it could have stretched a little? The noise you can hear could be the heating element catching the inner drum or something like a wire from a bra came loose in a wash and is trapped between the drums ?

I have a 1996 GMC 2500 pickup. I am doing rear brakes on it and cant get the drum off. It is moving but i can only move it a little bit and feels like it is catching on something

your spring kit for the drum is ceased, its about 35-45$ for a new one, or a good rust removing lube might uncease it aswell, heat up the drum and pry on it and it will eventually come off, dont heat it extensivley, just enough to break the rust and loosen whatever might be ceasing it

enjoy

Re: Lavamat 72630, 6 yrs old Very loud noise from drum movement, has increased over last ten washes. When machine is stopped, on rotating drum we note it is catching on something. Nothing rattling, don't...

Hiya admin47..... to be a litle more certain diagnosing your problem, please can you do the following.

1. with the washer empty.. ie the drum... please rotate the drum by hand at any speed you can get... without moving the drum sideways/backwards. Listen for any peculiar noises.

2. Then move the drum backwards at the bottom of the door ( dont force).. then let the drum housing go.. swinging by its own movement, again listen for any strange noises.

3. Do the same pushing the drum from the inside to the outer casing..again dont force.. let go listening again...

Please post me the results

Regards Faggly
