I have a Panasonic PT-56WX33G rear projection tv. All I see is a vertical line in the middle of the screen (which is also not as bright as it was before). Also, when the channel is not available and there is static on the screen I do not hear anything through the speakers. Otherwise, when it is on station I do hear the sound.
Do you have some hand soldering/desoldering skills to do this task?
The removing of the assembly(comb filter) will required the use of a desoldering tool and also the capacitors that need replace will have to be remove as well.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Take out the comb filter and replace the surface mount electrolytic capacitors (I think there were around 4 of them) on the comb filter and put it back in the motherboard. MCM sells a kit If I'm not mistaken with capacitors that fix this problem as well as the picture in picture problem which these same sets have.
