Computer not working with Samsung LCD TV

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 2032 MW LCD TV bought as a display model. When I choose PC from the menu, details concerning my Mesh PC appear on the screen. There is also a message -- "CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded. Warning!! CPU have been changed". The computer will not read the setup disc provided and I cannot use the TV as a computer monitor. Am I missing something? I would be very grateful for your help.

Your PC isn't working, the "CMOS Checksum Error" is a BIOS error. It has nothing to do with the monitor.
You have to let the PC load the default settings and try to boot up, if the defaults doesn't work, you have to reconfigure the options in the SETUP program. To enter Setup press "Del" or "F2" in the POST screen.

How do I get closed captioning on a Samsung TV model TXJ2754?

Hello

Your TV displays the closed captions that are broadcast with some

television shows. These captions are usually subtitles for the hearing

impaired or language translations. All VCRs record the closed caption

signal and most pre-recorded commercial video tapes provide closed

captions. Check for the closed caption symbol in your television

schedule and on the tape's packaging: .

1 Press MENU repeatedly until you see the Setup menu. Press CH
to select "Caption."

2 Press VOL+ to open the Closed Caption menu.

3 Press VOL + to turn closed captioning on.

Misspellings and odd characters can occur in captioning. Also, there may be a

captioning delay after changing channels. Neither situation is a TV malfunction.

4 Press CH to highlight "Mode." Press - VOL or VOL + to choose

"Capt." (captions) or "Text." In caption mode, captions appear and

cover a small portion of the picture. In text mode, information unrelated

to the program, such as news reports, are displayed and
often cover a large portion of the screen.

5 If you wish, use CH , CH , or VOL + to change the captioning

channel or field. Then, press DISPLAY to return to normal viewing.

Different channels and fields display different information, such as additional
languages or supplemental information

Cant use TV as Computer display

If you can disable the blue screen via the tv menu you might see something happening behind that blue ,you might be able to figure it out from there, also try to connect as directly as possible (tv/computer) even if you have to physically move one or the other, that way you can eliminate possible problems. good luck

Trouble with Channel setup

It is important for the TV to know what type of
signal-Cable TV (CATV) or a normal antenna
you are using. Choose your signal (Antenna or
Cable):
Press MENU to see the main menu.
Press CH+ or CH- to highlight Setup.
Press OK
to enter the Setup submenu.
TV/CATV is highlighted. Press VOL+ or
VOL-
to select TV or CATV.
Choose CATV if you have Cable TV
service. (See page 4 for connection
details.) If you do not have Cable TV
service and you connected an antenna
to the TV, choose TV. (See page 5 for
connection details.)
Press MENU repeatedly to exit the
menu or the menu will automatically
disappear within a few seconds if no
buttons are pressed on the remote
control.

And here is the manual if you need .

Every time i change channels on my tv the screen size changes Can you please tell me what I need to do to rectify this problem Many Thanks

Your channel display mode is set to auto i'd say.

Go into menu and find >

TV System.

Go to

Display Mode.

go to

Aspect Mode.

now you may choose what aspect you would like to watch you tv in.

You will have

4:3 PS

4:3 LB

16:9

and

Auto.

I go with one of the first two, as 16:9 is widescreen and Auto is a bit random as you found out. These are only rough guidelines as i don't own a Samsung TV. But all setting are mostly the same on all TV Sets.

Hope this helps,

Hughie.

PC WON'T DISPLAY ON MY SAMSUNG lcd PC INPUT

I have been informed that the VGA cable may need to be connected in one particular direction if it has a ferrite module built in. Simply connect the cable the other way around and that may solve your problem. Apparently this only applies to Samsung LCD's.

Panasonic 32" in LCD TC-32LX70

This sounds like the TV is not compatible at all to the display card in the computer.

Look in the TV's user book and see what the resolution is. It is also very important that the field or refresh rate is matched. Set the computer's display card to match exactly to the native mode of the TV set. This is for the resolution and the refresh rate.

Try the TV directly to the computer with the DVI to HDMI adabtor alone with no other monitor bridged in. If it works, then connect the computer monitor back up to share the feed. If the TV goes back out then you know that there is a conflict between the devices.

There is a way to do monitor sharing and each having different specs. There would be the need for an active monitor splitter with independent mode settings for each of the outputs. This is terribly expensive for home use.

In the past I have had problems with conversions between DVI and HDMI. There are a lot of complexities in the protocol for this and not every type of TV or monitor works well with this.

How do I get to S-Video?

Go to your graphic card settings located in the display properties menu, click "properties". You'll be able to see the settings of your laptop's graphic card. Choose "advanced",then select your "TV" as a target screen. Your S-Video cable has to be plugged in to your laptop when you are searching for the Laptop Display/TV selector I mentioned above. Also where this selector is located depends on what graphic card you have.
