Question about HP Photosmart M425 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Camara won't stay on.

For several months when I would turn my camara on, the blue light would blink, blink, blink, and then shut off. I would have to take the batteries out, and mess with them, put them back in, and then it would come on. We were initially told we needed better batteries. We went the the battery store, paid alot of money for fancy rechargable batteries, and it still did it. Saturday was my sons prom, and the camera just won't come on at all now.

HELP.

Our camera used to work fine with NiMH batteries, now the camera only accepts Alkaline. The same batteries that does not work in the HP works fine in my Minolta camera. I get a 4.0 Milliamp reading on the Alkaline and 3.8 on the MiMH batteries after recharge.

Go to the HP website and install the firmware on your camera. it contains the instructions for it, and they claim that it will solve the battery life issues. i haven't had this problem, but in searching for a solution for my problem, i ran across that solution.

BATTERY MAY BE SHOT. FIRST MAKE SURE
ALL CONNECTIONS ARE TIGHT AND CLEAN.

Wont turn on but light is blinking

Are there any error messages on the LCD display?

Will the camera lens stay out when the camera is turned on?

Can you still take a photo/flash/sound without seeing the photo?

If the camera will not turn on even with a fresh set of batteries it could have a system or lens error in the camera.

a possible lens jamb when closed and the green led on top comes on then shuts off after the lens attemps to extend but cant.

Kodak Z1285 Won't Turn On?

HAd exactly the same issue! You turn on the camera, lense comes out then the screen goes black (turns off)
The blue light stays on and the only way to get it to turn off is to take out the batteries.

Next time you turn on the device, the blue light comes on and the green led flashes, sometimes it powers down and other times the blue light stays on but you have no screen still. The lense stays out.

I tried the "tap" it approach and it now works fine! My suggestion has always been, if it don't work, kick it!! why didn't I try this with this camera firstly instead of trying all sorts of different button combinations to see if there was some sort of hard reset for it?

Thanks for the advice everyone and happy snapping!! :)

My camera doesn't come on

Are you using Lithium batteries?

ALL Kodak cameras have huge problems with alkaline batteries.

Hope this helps.

Camara wont power up

I have a similar problem where the product stopped working and froze. No buttons worked, replaced batteries seveal times.

Spoke to Hp Customer service where they stated buy another camera??? It was out of warranty for about 2 months.

So I bought a Kodak camera with great customer support and will never buy another HP Product again.

My problem was solved!

Lens problem

If you've replaced the batteries with fresh ones, it probably has a broken zoom assembly. It'll have to be replaced by a repair shop.
