Please check the power cord. The plug and the socket and ensure the wires are connected properly. Check the wall plug and see that it has power. Also check the power cable on a different device. If it still does not work check the connection of plug at the back. Hope it is not loose. Also check the voltage settings. It should be 220/240 volts

Ok so I just recently got a 93 ls400 and the guy I got it from said the head lights won't come on.. (he's a master electricain) he told me he tinkered with it a little and could not figure it out. I...

The connections inside of the headlight switch could be bad. It happened to me after work one day. Although my brights would still come on if I held the switch. If you pull the plug off the switch and jump from power to the headlight prong and they work it's definitely the switch.

I have a square levition light switch for lamps. what wire do i hook it up to? the black wire or the white?

All new 2 wire cords with an attached plug should be polarized, meaning that one of the prongs is larger than the other, thus preventing you from plugging it into the receptacle improperly. If you look at the male prongs on the plug, the larger spade is the neutral and the smaller spade is the "hot" side. You have to find out which is the "hot conductor" on the cord. The cord is identified with a tracer (either ribbed or legibly mark on one side of one of the conductors . Follow the identifier up to where you want the switch. Cut only the hot conductor leaving the neutral conductor untouched. (DO NOT CUT BOTH CONDUCTORS). You may have to trim the hot conductor back a little to fit into the molded channel of the switch. reassemble the switch. the unit is equipped with insulation displacement blades that will puncture the insulation thus making contact with the conductors.

I have a three way switch in a lamp, one red wire one black wire and one blue wire coming out off the switch, how do I wire off the switch?

Black is the AC power into the switch, and the others are the switched power leads out. Take a close look at the switch housing and you might see small markings reading L1 and L2 by the red and blue leads.

To wire the switch, use a pressure connector (wire nut) to connect the black lead to the incoming AC power. On a polarized line cord, where the plug has one prong wider than the other, the hot side is the narrow prong. The neutral side, which connects to the white wires from the lamp sockets, is the wide prong, and the cord usually has a ridge molded in.

The red and blue wires go to the sockets. (This kind of switch is usually used in three-socket lamps, so I assume that's what you have.) The red lead should connect to the black wire from one socket, and the blue lead to the black wires from the other two. The usual sequence is power off, L1 (red) on, L2 (blue) on, L1 and L2 on. So as you turn the switch (or press the button in a push switch) you get one light, then two, then all 3 on.

Make sure all your connections are good and tight with UL approved connectors and there are no exposed bare wires, and you should be good to go.

I want to install aux. backup lights and not wiring them to the jeeps backup ligts. I don't understand the switch. It has three prongs on the back The diagram shows one is power coming from the relay one...

What diagram? What switch? Are you using a switch that salready in the Jeep, or a switch that you bought? You really need a relay to handle th ecurrent of the lights. The relay will have 4 terminals, The relay is really just a remote switch. Let the relay take the power, not the switch. Buy a relay for fog lights and it should have a diagram you can use.

GFI switch outlet may have damaged Kenmore 55771 side-by-side?

Could be the GFI switch.
The washer has a 3-prong (grounded) plug, what about the other appliances that you tested?
The GFI may not have a good ground and the 3-prong appliance provided a "difference" that the GFI detected as a "fault".

I have a 4 prong pigtail

Here is what I believe you have.

The 3 prong plug on your dryer is configured with 2 lines of power and 1 ground. The 4 prong receptical is 2 lines of power, 1 neutral, and 1 ground.
You will have to turn off the breaker to see how the receptical is wired by pulling it out and looking at it. You can then buy a 4 prong plug to match it and only wire up the 3 prongs you need for your dryer and leave the 4th prong empty.

Good Luck and hope this helps

Replacing cord on table lamp

From one side of the lamp cord, to one side of the switch.

From other side of switch to both blacks from the upper and lower bulbs.

From other side of lamp cord, to the white coming from both bulbs.

This assumes there is a black and white wire coming from both bulbs.

Please note, look at the lamp cord closely, particularly the plug. If one prong is wider than the other, then the plug is polarized, and you need to pay special attention to the wires leading out of the plug. One of the two will be ribbed, the other smooth. Note which is on the same side of the plug as the wide prong. Whichever is with the wide prong, should NOT connect to the switch, but to the whites coming from the bulbs.
