    whirlpool 6wmv43ns

  • Anonymous Aug 25, 2010

    Thanks for your reply.
It's a whirlpool 6wmv43ns. We repair for a customer. It has been checked by three other repairer before they rang us.
The original problem is freezer freezing up, pc not cold. All was told is to turned the fridge off for a couple of days then turn it back on again. Of course the problem will come back. They 've already spent $300 for nothing. So, we'd like to get things done properly for them.
We tested it.The freezer temperature was about -30c no matter how you adjust the control. Now, the new control has been put in since yesterday afternoon. We checked the data logger just now, freezer is -29c, pc is 8c. It looks like that it's been cycling. Three green lights (min, med, max) are still flashing.
Any advice for this particular model?
    Thanks

I checked Whirlpool and that is not a valid model number.-19C for the freezer is very excessive. The 4C-5C for the refrigerator is about right, maybe 1C or 2C less but it isn't bad the way it is.I would be looking at the thermostat for the freezer section.Since I am not sure about your model but here is a whole bunch of pretty recent models parts diagrams. You need Adobe to read it.If you do not have it,it is a FREE,SAFE download with no junk.If this is not helpful, please find the proper model number so I can find it for you.The link.Good luck! this is not the model number ive been to whirlpool and they dont recongnize that number as well as sears please post correct model number for proper diagnosis

    Improve your search results
Look for your model sticker or plate
This is the best place to find your model number. You can find it following "Model No," "MOD," or "MO."

    Get the whole number
Include every digit, even if some are sized or styled differently, as seen in the examples to the right. Kenmore and Craftsman model numbers may have the first three digits separated by a period.

Watch out for characters that look alike
Take a closer look at the lowercase "I" and numeral "1", letter "S" and numeral "5", and letter "O" and numeral "0"

The factory presets your temperatures to the MID / MID setting of 0º for the freezer and 37º for the refrigerator. Refrigerator adjustment range is -15º to +15º in the freezer and 33º to 47º in the refrigerator. Depending on ambient temperatures the temperatures will be + or - 6º the set point. Whenever you make a temperature adjustment, you need to wait 24 hours to notice any temperature difference. this is in fahrenheit also

Please provide the brand name and model no. of your fridge as it does not appear with the problem description. I will try to provide some solutions once you post this information
Cheers

I have seen your comments and analysis.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience in this model of the fridge. That is why I had asked for a clarification of the make and model. It is a pity the client was asked to change components without full understanding of the problem.

Maybe best to put the problem back to fixya through allocation to another expert.

Dryer will not start

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, will not start. I also see that when you press the start button, the lights above the Control button blink and your dryer beeps. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try running any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

You can fix it yourself. The CPU was to hot and the solder has come off. Bad part is the solder is under the CPU and must be heated up. It is lead free so it needs more heat then lead and you need to add flux. I would start by getting the board out. Remove the thermal paste off the CPU. Add flux with a flux pen. You want to get the flux under the CPU so you might want to tip it on its side. After you have a good amount of flux under the CPU you want to start to heat the parts around the CPU. I would use a heat gun with temp. settings. You first want to heat around the CPU to keep solder on the other parts from cracking. You dont want to over heat the parts. After you preheat the board you want to heat the CPU. It needs to be around 400 or 500 degs f. a good 15 or 30 sec. keep moving the heat gun. After heating the CPU you want to start the cool down. Same as warming up the board but you want the board to cool down slow. After all this you want to add New thermal paste to the CPU. This helps transfer from the CPU. This is a must because your PS3 is overheating as it is. After you do all this some people say it only works for 2 to 6 weeks. Its all on how you fix the board and how good of a job you did. I would back up your hard drive. Then hope for the best!! good luck and i hope this helps you out.

I have a Graco baby monitor, it started making a noise for the last 2 days, could it be a battery problem (even with power connected)? The monitor is about 1.5 years old.

Annoying! happens to us too frequently, but this works. We ended up buying a new one and returning our broken one after owning for three months From Manual:) 5. Turn on the Nursery Unit using the On/Off switch on the side. The green power light should come on. 6. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit will lock on to the Nursery Unit and the top four (4) green LEDs will shut off. A second later, you will hear a series of beeps and the connection LED should change from red to green. Your monitor is now ready for use. 7. If the top four (4) LEDs do not shut off, power off the Parent Unit and the Nursery Unit and repeat steps 4 and 5 above. 8. If the connection LED on the Parent Unit does not change from red to green and the unit begins to beep, press the channel "ch" button on the Nursery Unit. Within a few seconds, the Parent Unit should lock in on the Nursery Unit and the connection LED should change from red to green. You may hear an audible beep during this process. 9. If the Parent Unit is still unable to lock in on the Nursery Unit (connection LED will be red and the unit will beep), power down both the Parent Unit and the Nursery Unit. Wait for 10 seconds then hold the volume down button on the Parent Unit while pressing the On/Off switch. When the unit powers up, you will hear a single beep and all of the soundlights will illuminate. Release the volume down switch and within 2 seconds you will hear two beeps and all of the Sound Light LEDs will stay lit and the bottom LED will be red. 10. Repeat steps 5

Thank You..... Thank You... Thank you.. for answering your own question :) I was going through the exact same thing and couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Only difference was this was only my second re-flow. I know I did everything perfect too. Because like you mine last 6-8 month's. Not two weeks some some who don't put the added tlc needed. After reading your solution I noticed that because of the way that ribbon bends. Some of the beads were protruding from the ribbon. So I pushed them down with a plastic fork prong so I wouldn't rip it. Then flipped the ribbon so it wouldn't bend over the end again. Thank you again Chilled....

I can't remember how to get the green light for my saltwater generator going and i can't find the intructions. don't remember how to get it going.

Unlock the keypad by pressing and holding the "down arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep and then the "up arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep.

Set the number of hours you want it to run by adjusting the time display using the "up arrow" or "down arrow" until you have the correct number of hours.

After setting the time re-lock the keypad by pressing and holding the "down arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep and then the "up arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep? Several minutes later the Green LED should come on indicating the cycle has started.

Stove top in lock mode

Hold your finger or thumb on the red light for a few seconds, and you will hear three beeps. This tells you that the lock is off. If the light is not on, do the same and there will be three beeps, and the light will come on, telling you that the lock is back on.
