Question about Refrigerators

I have a Sunsung RS21JLSG, and it's not chilling the food like it should. It's making terrible noise, sounds like a generator. Anyone know the problem?

Fan blade is hitting something probably, could be ice buildup in the freezer compartment. Open the freezer door and see if thats where your noise is coming from. If it is coming from the back of the refrigerator at the bottom could be something was drawn into the fan causing you noise.

LG lxf31945st 3 door french er F1 code and chugging noise. WIll it effect my food I cant get anyone out for a week! Not sure if it is the ice fan or not

If its not making ice then its just the fan the blows air to the icemaker compartment. This will not affect your food. The ice in your icebucket will melt though. I would empty it.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator (model # ET2AHTXLT00). It intermittently makes a loud clicking noise that comes from the left side of the refrigerator (when youre facing it). It still is cold inside both...

What you are hearing is the fresh food damper. It sounds like it stuck open or stripped. You should have a tech look at it. It could stick closed and make the fresh food section too warm. Ihope this helps.

The lower part of my samsung cooltech fridge is freezing all food.

Hi nalin, sounds like you may have a problem with with your defrost timer. Defrost timers can fail due to wear and tear. If this happens during the cooling mode, it will allow excessive frost to accumulate on the cooling coils causing the refridgeration compartment to over shoot its chilling operation in turn causing everything to freeze. Best bet would be to call up a local Appliance Service Technician while the fridge is still manageable so you save on time and money. Also it wouldnt be a bad idea checking the thermostat rotational knob on the rear inner wall of the fridge (if there is one) just to make sure that the machine isnt fully dialed to max chill, hope this helps.

Our LG bottom freezer refridgerator is 2 years old. It is making a whirring noise that stops when the door is opened. It can get pretty loud at times.

The whirring sound is the fan that blows cold air into the refrigerator. It is supposed to stop when the door is opened. If it is making a loud noise there may be ice built up in the fan housing. Turning the power to the refrigerator off for a 2-4 hours may allow any ice in the fan to melt. If you do not open the freezer during that time the frozen food will not defrost. If the noise continues, you may have to take the fan apart to make sure it is not frozen. It is probably located behind the back inside panel of the freezer.

Left refrigerator door open over night, next day it stopped working

If this is a frost-free model with the evaporator buried in a tunnel behind the cabinet, there's a good chance you've just got it thoroughly iced up inside.

I'd be tempted to see if you can borrow some space in a neighbour's freezer for a day or so and turn your freezer off for 24 hours (with the door propped open) to defrost thoroughly.

Once all the ice has melted and you've mopped up all the ensuing mess, I think there's a good chance all will be well again. Even if it isn't, you haven't really lost anything through trying.
