Compressor is likely shorted to ground. With a multimeter you could ohm the compressor to verify. With power off remove wires at compressor. Test each leg to ground or metal or a piece of copper. Continuity would confirm a grounded compressor. Warranty, age and cost would determine next step.

SOURCE: I have the Mitsubishi split unit system with 24BTU

Ok, it can be two things.

  1. The outside unit needs to be washed with a water hose to rinse any dirt and debris that can cause a restriction in airflow over the outdoor coils. If they are allowed to get dirty, they can cause the compressor to overheat and shut down on thermal lockout.
  2. The unit has a small refrigerant leak and the unit doesn't have sufficient refrigerant for the system to run thus causing the compressor to shut down on thermal lockout. The problem with this one is that generally the inside coil will freeze up and you will notice that.
Compressors generally won't come on at all if they are bad. You can have a compressor go bad and still be running, but it won't cool at all. A bad install can cause a compressor to fail as well. Generally if the compressor fails within the first 10 years, you can bet it's because it was a poor install. This means that a proper vacuum wasn't pulled on the unit before initial start-up. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: p8 eroor code

P8 error is abnormal pipe temperature indoor. If you are running it on heating P8 error will appear because the disc pressure is too high. It could be overcharged.

SOURCE: evaporator comes on, but the condensor unit does'nt.

Have u checked at the compressor unit. There is a contactor than energizes the compressor is this contactor getting supply when u turn on the evaporator this contactor get energized see if this happens. If this is energized and you are getting supply to the compressor and compressor doesn't turn on 1.) compressor has thermal protection this might be faulty 2.) or the compressor has too much freon 3.) check if the windings of the compressor motor are not short to ground

SPLIT AC CONDENSER TRIPS AFTER 1 OR 2 MINS, ONLY DURING THE DAY TIME

The condensor is not cooling fast enough. Try cleaning the condensor coil. Also check that the fan goes on. At night the outside temperature is cooler and does not need much work to cool down the condensor.

Hello I would add a HARD START KIT to the run capasitor (if there is not one already). This makes the compressor come on easy.If the breaker trips during running time the pressures are too high, hose off the condenser coil (fins). The unit might be slightly overcharged but I would be careful before adjusting the freon at all.

Air conditioner trips circuit only in the evening?

first off, it's illegal to release freon into the atmosphere. the epa could charge you $32,500, so keep it under your hat. second, if it's getting too cold where the evaporator coils are icing up, it's too lille freon, not too much. as for the breaker tripping, your compressor might be wearing out. if it's pulling too much current, the motor is failing and the compressor needs replacing. and do not do it yourself unless you're certified by the epa to move freon and have the proper equipment to recollect the used freon.

Whirlpool model acq158xso shuts off circuit breaker

It sounds as though the unit is dirty and during high loads, it is haveing trouble keeping up. Pull the unit from it's housing and wash it real good with a hose and sprayer. Its better to pull the unit because you can get to the coiling easier and clean it the way it needs to be clean. I bet this will solve your problem, if not then it may be low on refrigerant and the compressor is locking out and this can sometimes trip a weak breaker.

Is your condensing unit located in a well ventilated area and have an ample space, atleast a foot, from the rooftop flooring? Just make a check that free flowing outside air properly ventilates the condensing unit specially on high ambient temperatures. Hope this would solve your problem
