Here's one from the Janome site for a My Style 100, it might be similar? http://www.janome.com/documents/File/ManualFile/MyStyle100.pdf
If not contact Janome as a lot of their manuals are free to download from their website.

Thanks, it does seem very similar!

I seem to now have another problem that I thought the manual would solve -- how do I sew a button hole? Is anyone able to give me a step by step process starting from which foot I use?

Page 5 of the manual, part numbered 3 is the buttonhole foot. In sewing terms buttonhole seems to be shortened to BH.
This is the same as my machine, although it is a Toyota 9090.
Stitch numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are used to form the sides, top and bottom of your buttonhole. Have a look on page 25 of the manual.
Set a zig zag stitch and have a practice on a scrap piece of fabric.

Opps, I mean buttonhole stitch is like zigzag stitch and you would use similar setting as if you were sewing a zigzag stitch. The buttonhole foot can be altered to make button holes of different lengths. I always find videos on you tube helpful for things like zippers and how to use the different feet for sewing, like this onehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeE4LPVyN...

With any sewing machine if there's a feed problem it usually means the feed dogs or the foot pressure need to be cleaned / adjusted. You can download a Janome 16 Manual here: http://janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/economy-models/inst-book-7318-english.pdf

What should the tension on a Janome MyStyle 22 be, please?

I think you need to start with number 4 and adjust depending on your fabric.

Have a look at this manual for the My Style 100, near the end it explains how and why to adjust the tension.

I have an old Janome Mystyle 30, which is still sewing like a dream, but in the middle of a project, I suddenly can't get the stitch tension right. Of course I can't find the manual either.

Unfortunately Janome don't provide links to their user manuals, so the only option is to buy one. I cannot find any free examples elsewhere, but this supplier has what you need at a reasonable price. If you find that you cannot eventually get the tension correct, then your machine is worn or out of adjustment and will need servicing. A smooth running machine is vital for consistent tension, so make sure that you have cleaned out the lint from the mechanism and applied sewing machine oil as advised in the owners manual.

Hope that I've been of some assistance and that you quickly solve your tension teaser! Please take a moment to rate my reply.
