Hi LLindqu295,

Don't worry. If you have 2 CD drives, put both the disks in each drive and then try doing what you want. When asked, direct it by typing or browsing & clicking on the path<driveletter> of ur first disk. It should work if that's what it wants.

But if you don't have 2 drives, then make sure youhave enough space on your hard disk and if you do, then simply create a folder, name it Disk_1 and copy the contents of disk1 in this folder. THEN try getting the desired output and NOW when prompted/asked for the first disk, type or direct it to the path on the drive where you have created the folder Disk_1.

I think this should give you your result.

I have windows 7 and i bought reader rabbit preschool and it wont work. is there anything i can do to resolve this?

Its probably a compatibility issue. You need to right click on the drive after inserting the disc and go to properties then compatibility and change it to run compatible with xp. hit apply and see if that works for ya. windows 7 is picky like that. go to this website... scroll down and you will see it needs windows big deal just change compatibility like it said.

Reader rabbit software won't install

If you are attempting to install this under Windows Vista or Windows 7, it may be a compatibility issue. Open computer and right click on the cd/dvd drive and click 'explore'. Then look for 'Setup' or 'Setup.exe' and right click on it and click properties. Go to the compatibility tab and check the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility for' and select either Windows XP (any service pack) or Windows 98 if that does not work. Also check the box next to 'Run this program as administrator' and click 'OK' at the bottom. Now you should be able to run Setup.exe and install the program.

How to run REader Rabbit without CD-Rom? I can copy the disk contents to the HDD... but then all it does is error.. is there any way to use my software on my ePC when travelling without taking the CD's...

I have a (partial & ugly) solution here.

First, copy the entire cd contents into a folder on the computer. e.g. "C:\Program Files\The Learning Company\Reader Rabbit Reading 6-8 full cd copy" Then run the installer from \INSTALL\SETUP32.EXE

DO NOT delete the files which you copied off the cd.

What this does is it installs the program as if it installed off the cd, and creates initialization files which look to check that a certain file exists **in the location that you installed from** - You have fooled the launcher into thinking that the cd is in place.

However I am still not completely satisfied, because every time you launch the program, Windows 7 requires administrator privileges (so my kids have to come and ask me for my password every time).

The game is for OS 9 as opposed to Mac OS X. If this game has been sold as a game for OS X your only option is to contact the company that sold it to you and return it and ask for the OS X version. Hope this helps.

Reader rabbit reading ages 4-6 won't record and playback anymore. It tells me there is not enough disk space. I have 30GB of disk space available.

Unistall the program, use the free system utilities tools like "CCleaner " (you can download from : to clean up your system. Reinstall the program and test whether it works.
