Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Magnavox Model 42 MF130A Plasa Tv and have it hooked to a Dish Network Model 625 DVR. I would like to have the Model 6.0 IR/UHF Echo Star remote that came with the DVR control the TV for on and off volume etc. The same as the one that came with the TV. I have tryed scaning until my fingers are numb. Can anyone tell me how to find the correct code to control this Magnavox TV with a Echo Star model 6.0 remote??????

Well this help is referancing an All in One 7800 and how to program it ?????? I actually asked for help programing a Echo Star remote 6.0 remote so these instructions have NOTHING to do with this remote and probably work great if you have a AIO 7800 ????? So I can only assume you never actually read my request for help and this is just a computer generated response to any cry for help on remotes..................????

    Irish,

I do appreacite you trying to help but unless you actually read the request we could never comunicate......................... I asked for help with a model 6.0 REMOTE and you are asking me if I actually looked at hifi -remote site under URC-7800 ?????

Since a Echo Star remote doesnt even have a "setup" button on it like the URC7800 how could this possibily be relevate????

I have also tryed punching the button HUNDREDS of times to see if the code was in the remote before I ever contacted you as I was hoping you had a referance that I dont as to the actual code that Magnavox used on this TV or that you would look up the way to transfer the info end to end like you suggested for the 7800..............................

I have tryed all of those David and some of them will do interesting things like bring on the mute or even the source instead of turning on or off the TV like it should ????? Very strange deal ................. Magnavox has NOTHING on this code setup and basically BLEW ME OFF when I contacted them.

I contacted Echo Star and they told me that my TV is probably weird as far as codes go?????

I dont think any of them want to know about this problem???

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.

  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

More help for programming your remote can be found here:

Hope that helps!

Can't get my 21 1 ir/uhf pro remote to work with dish network dvr 625

If you are attempting to program it to tv-2 on a 625 receiver it has to be set to a odd number for example number 7 instead of 2 or 6.
The reason for this is that the 625 receiver only supports band A frequencies for UHF and on a 21.x remote odd numbers are A band and even numbers are B band.

Hi Robert, my name is Cheri Torres and I work on the Social Media Team at DISH. It sounds like your remote is experiencing IR(Infrared) interference from your LG TV. You can resolve this issue by converting your TV1 remote to UHF(Ultra High Frequency) instead of IR. In order to do this you will need a UHF remote, the 20.0 remote is only an IR remote. Please email me directly at Cheri.Torres@Dish.com with your account number or phone number on the account so that I can look into getting a UHF remote sent out. Thank you.

I get the dish network screen on # 2 tv and have lost the remote I can't get # 1 tv remote to change the channel. Is there any way to program the remote for tv 1 to change the channel on tv 2.

smithgrvtn,

It is possible to get your TV1 remote to work TV2, but it would have to be a model 6.0/6.3/6.4. If it is not one of those models you would need to have a remote ordered and sent out; then it would work. If your remote is one of the above models; I have included the steps to get that done.

Changing Remote from UHF-to-IR and IR-to-UHF:

1.) Verify correct model of remote and it is IR/UHF compatible. Remove tab from bottom of remote. For TV1: Green Tab with Green 1 in it. For TV2: Blue tab with 2 and black UHF in it.

2.) Push correct tab into remote, and go to your main TV.

3.) Access System Information either with a remote, Sys Info button on front of receiver, or powering it off and pressing the up arrow.

4.) Press and hold the gray SAT button until all buttons on top light up. Release and while the light is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press Pound(#)

5.) Press Record 3 times and check to see if the address changed to the number you chose. Verify remote works.

If you have any other questions you can let me know here; or at thomas.fuast@dishnetwork.com and I would be happy to see what else can be done!

Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network. That would be a case of remote interference. You'll need a model 6.3 or 6.4 remote. You can set it to a uhf frequency instead of an ir that will correct the issue.
