Question about Toshiba Satelite 2410 Notebook

1 Answer

My laptop will neither turn on or charge with the power cord plugged in. The yellow light above the plug in symbol flashes 5 blinks followed by 3 blinks. It is not the power adapter cord as I have replaced thinking this was the problem. I know the battery no did not last anymore, as my computor was always plugged in. Any ideas?

After I remove and replace the battery, the light is no longer on and I can turn the power on and boot up. When I plug the power cord in, the screen goes black and the yellow light returns to flashing.

The only other thing you can try is clear the flee power off the system. You can do this by removing the battery from the notebook and unplugging the AC Power. Next hold down the power button for 30 to 45 seconds. After doing this plug back in the AC power and try to turn the system back on.

If you still have trouble then you lost the motherboard on the notebook. If you are still under warranty with Toshiba I would contact them about getting it replaced.

So this means that ether you have a short in the other AC adapter you tried or there is a problem with the AC connector on the motherboard its self.

Charger seems to have both red and green lites flashing at the same time no sequence and both batteries connected read 4.0 VDC, are these chargers repariable or throw aways

Your manual is here. The section on charging states, that green blinking means your battery is fully charged but blinking red means that your charger is faulty. I would say repairable.

1. Plug the female connector of the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC receptacle on the charger and plug in the male connector on the AC power cord into the wall outlet.

2. The On/Off LED indicator is blinking RED, this is abnormal. Unplug AC power cord from the on-board battery charger and wall outlet. Charger may need to be replaced. Contact an Invacare dealer or qualified technician.

3. When the On/Off LED indicator light is Off, charger is Off.

4. When the Charge LED indicator light is YELLOW, the batteries are charging.

5. When the Charge LED indicator light is solid GREEN, the batteries are fully charged (as their condition will allow).

6. When charging is complete, unplug the male connector of the AC power cord from the wall outlet and then unplug the female connector of the AC power cord from the AC receptacle on the charger.

Cant turn my computer on and there is a yellow blinking light

How many blinks? Count and notice the patterns of the blinks (3 long blinks or 1 long blink followed by two short blinks).

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting. If all the above fails, you problem could be your Video Card or a motherboard issue.

Cs55 connects but has no sound on headset

The compatibility setting, in almost 100% of the cases, should be set to "1".  You can find it on the side of the base, it's a little turn wheel that will turn if you stick your thumbnail in it and twist.  I have seen one instance on the Cisco IP phones that requires the compatibility setting to be on 5, so try that as well.
If you have a lifter installed, make sure that the short telephone cable that comes out of the back of the headset's base unit is plugged into the handset port of the telephone (where the handset coily cord is normally plugged into).  You would then plug the handset coily cord into the front of the headset base unit.  Make sure you have that configuration, and try again.
Finally you can try a re-set.  To do this you should lift the headset off of the charging base, make sure the green light on the top of the base is off (the headset is off), and then do the following: 1. Hold down the mute button and the call answer button at the same time. (The mute button is the black little wheel on the top of the headset itself.  If you use the tip of your finger to push that straight in, it will mute the headset) 2.  Keep holding both buttons down until the green light below your thumb on the headset flashes for 2 consecutive series. 3.  Let go.  Wait about 20 seconds then try answering.
If this doesn't work, try a re-subscription: 1. Place the headset back on the charging base. 2. The two microphone volume adjust buttons on the back of the BASE unit should be pressed together.  This will start the red light and the yellow light blinking on the front of the base unit. 3. Hold the mute button down while the headset is still on the charging base.  Hold it down until the red light stops blinking. 4. Disconnect the power to the base so that the red light and yellow light turns off. 5. Plug the power back in after about 5 seconds of it being disconnected and make sure the red light on the front of the charging base is now solid and the yellow light is flashing. 6.  Pick up the headset and try again.

Powers on Immediately poers off

This could be a bad memory chip or slot problem. remove the memory and try one chip at a time in each slot. If this doesn't work then the problem will most likely be in the power management system on the motherboard. This will require professional diagnosing in order to track down the exact problem component.

Toshiba Satellite A15-S129 PC Notebook will not turn on

I have the same problem. What I have found with mine is that if I can get the battery to take just a little charge then I can get it up and running. Here is how I do it. Disconnect AC power leave the battery in and start the laptop. As soon as thing start to run I plug the AC back in and it works fine from there on. Now mine is flashing as well now and I have a dead battery and it will not restart. Something I have noticed thought is it appears that the yellow light is blinking a code. This is what I have come up with. I appears to be flashing 323 as the code or could be 2 shorts 1 long then 2 shorts and then 3 shorts.

Anyone know where to find info on these flashing codes.

Thanks
