Limited connectivity If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you LAN connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the router. To fix this problem, right click on the LAN icon on the Task bar and then click Repair. This will force the router to issue a IP address to the LAN card on the laptop.
I have one, after finding out how reliable and well-made they are. However, they can be picky during setup, especially since they have a rare 'config IP' address (the number you type into your internet browser's address bar to change the modem's settings). Click here >> 192.168.100.1
See this link for more info.
have you check your network connection, try to go control panel, check if you a network connection, check the driver of your ethernet on device maneger,if no driver install your lan installer,if your network is working properly,on network connection left click

type on the box your ip address manually example 192.168.0.1 and click that no. on the box to get your subnet mask, then close all until you get ip address manually, checking ip address on your network check on status,if you got manual ip address, then back again to network connection this time obtain your ip address on tcp/ip properties click obtain an ip automatically from modem,
besure to connect your modem on lan port.regards
Hi Friend, Before Connecting your internet we must check in ur system.
1.Go to Start---->Run------>type cmd----->in the black screen type ping 127.0.0.1 2.check wither its getting reply or request 3.If u are getting reply then ur system is perfect i.e., your NIC Card is installed properly. 4.check wither any proxy is enabled in the LAN settings. go to browser--->tools---->internet options(Options)----->Connection--->Lan Setting--->there should noy be any tick mark in the boxes
Now we can check the connectivity, 1.Connect the PC from the Router Lan Port and the modem connectivity to the Wan Port of the Router. 2.Assign the Ip address as obtain ip address automatically
Right click networkplaces--->properties--->Lan Connection Properties---->double click the internet protocol(Tcp/IP).In the next box u must select the Obtain Ip address automatically
3.Now u switch on the modem after 30 sec switch on the Router. 4. Launch your web browser. 5 Type "192.168.1.1" as the URL. 6For administrator access enter the default admin password 1234 to configure the wizards and the advanced features. 7 Click Login to proceed to a screen asking you to change your password or click Cancel to revert to the default password. 8 If you entered the admin password, it is highly recommended you change the default admin password! Enter a new password between 1 and 30 characters, retype it to 9.Then u can configure the ip address

Click on Start - Control Panel - then Network Connections - then right click on your Wireless Network connection - click on Properties. Then in "This connection uses the following items, scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties. Under the General Tab make sure Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected. Click OK.
If you do not see TCP/IP in the Wireless Network Connection then click on the install button and then install the TCP/IP driver.
IF TCP/IP is OK then before you do the following, turn off or disconnect the power to your wireless router, wait for 1 minute before connecting the power again. Wait till the LED lights indicate that it is on line again and the wireless is on then :-
Click on Start - Control Panel - then Network Connections - then right click on your Wireless Network connection - click on View Available Wireless Networks Do you see your wireless network (ie. your wireless router)? If so click on your wireless router and then click Connect.
You can also click on Repair to try to reconnect to your wireless router. Let me know if it works.
Usually the limited or no connectivity is displayed under the following circumstances:
The router and wireless adapter are too far apart.
The network key (ex. wep, wpa, etc) your inputting on the computer is incorrect.
The computer is obtaining the wrong IP address.
Judging by the fact that you already have had a computer connecting to the wireless network , I would assume your problem is going to be related to number 3. To make sure, I would first make sure that the wireless router is giving off a higher signal strength then 1-2 bars in the wireless network box in XP.
To confirm that it is correctly receiving an IP address I would change the connection to DHCP, which means the router assigns an IP address to the computer automaticlly. Here aree the instructions to do so....
Double click on the icon for the wireless network on the bottom right corner
When the box opens , click "Properties"
On the next box , double click on the line that says "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
Next click on the radio button that says "Obtain an IP address automaticlly (DHCP)"
Then click on the radio button that says "Obtain DNS server address automaticlly"
Now try connecting to the wireless network, that shoud fix you up.
Also if that does not work , you can try this YouTube video which is great refrence for fixing a connection. Best of luck!
ok, clicking repair is a stupid setting that windows puts in as when you click it it immediately returnsyour pc's ip address to a windows default ip address which you router cannot read and therefore disconnects you.
Go to your network adapter properties, right click on task bar icon on go to network connections and right click>properties TCP/IP line and click properties again then select if not already 'obtain ip address automatically', then ok it and close windows.
If you are connecting through a router you need to get into the set up menu of ypur router by typing the router ip adress in your web browser(refer to manual for the address)and look for the conections menu and ensure your password and username is correct and make sure DHCP is enabled so as to give your pc an automatic ip address
