Question about Briggs & Stratton Briggs Stratton Intek V - Twin Vertical Ohv Engine with Electric Start 22 Hp, 1" X 3 5/32" Shaft, ModelNo. 44K777 - 0027 - E1
The carburetor is not destroyed, just gummed up with the old gas. You might be able get it going yourself by doing the following: Drain all of the old gas out of it. Put in a little carb cleaner in the tank. If you have a spray can, just spray it into the tank for 3 to 5 seconds, or at least until you can see a puddle of it in the tank. Crank the engine for about 5 seconds. If the puddle in the tank has gone down, then let it sit for an hour then repeat and wait another hour. Then add some gas and try to start it. However, if the puddle in the tank does not go down at all, the carb will have to be disassembled to be cleaned. If you don't want to do that yourself, call a local mower repair shop - should be less than $50.
