Question about Acer Aspire 3050 Notebook

1 Answer

My laptop wont turn on. Just one day it ran out of battery and then stopped working all together, even after I plugged it in for a while. It sounds like I need a new battery, but I just got bought the computer, so could there be anything else wrong with it.

The truth is your battery is not charged, just try and cahrge it, your system will definately come on, and check your source of power as well as power pack if it is working. Good luck

Laptop wont boot up, black screen, has power

You didn't post the Make, Model of Laptop or the OS you are using. I'll use a Win 7 solution. Boot the Laptop, open the Control Panel, select Power Options, set to High Performance, select Change Plan Settings, set SLEEP to Never, select Change Advanced Power settings, go through the settings , set SLEEP and Hibernate to Never, Power buttons and Lid to shut down. Always shut down and unplug your laptop when not in use to prevent damage from power surges and possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. A reboot every day will reset the computer.

I would check the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pump fuse. When you turn key to "start" you should hear the fuel pump turn on. If no sound then check the above. A cheap 12V probe tester can detect volts at the fuel pump electrical plug.

Your power jack is bad. The cable and DC jack are a one piece cable that can be unplugged from the motherboard and replaced. They are available on EBay for around 30 bucks or less and takes approx. 30 minutes to change out.

Laptop wont turn on (acer aspire 5002wlmi)

Sounds like it's hitting a dead cell in the battery. If you are a very skilled electrician or computer tech you can find and replace dead cells in the battery by taking it apart. Otherwise your safest and easiest solution would be the purchase a replacement battery. Check on ebay, usually you can find them for a fraction of regular cost.
