Question about Peg Perego John Deere Turf Tractor

1 Answer

Only one rear tire is powered and the tractor won't run in the grass when a child gets on. I tried holding the spinning tire but the tire not working did not engage. How can I get power to both back tires?

Mower deck adjustment ride on mower MTD 13538 cutting deck a lot lower than rear of the deck shaving the grass to dirt.

Are all the rods that hold the deck on all the same length. Has any been replaced with the wrong ones. Did this machine hit something that things were bent an out of shape.
Are your tires blown up where they should be? Soft tires will do that.

RELEASE SWITCH ON REAR OF RIDING TRACTOR.

Double check the drive axle keyway and make sure key is still in there. Without it the drive axle just spins without driving either wheel.
Also if hydro static make sure the neutral lever is re-engaged. Operators sometimes put these in neutral and then forget to put them back when they to use the mower.

Have a craftsman DYS4500 with a front mount snowblower only one rear wheel on right side will turn on ice with chains on both rear wheels you cant move machine just spins on right

yes this is correct that is called a " differential" it allows you to turn in circles without one wheel dragging in grass, larger 4wd drive tractors have what is called a "diff Lock" that can be engauged this pins both tires on same axle together and keeps them both turning in low traction surfaces,

im unaware of any craftsman that is made with a "diff LOck"

Gears won't engage

when you removed the tires is the tires bolted on or do they have a clip around the axle if it has a clip around the axle then there should be a long sqare key that sits in axle as well as the wheel that key keeps the axle from just spinning in rim if that key is missing then replace it & you should be ready to go

Rear wheel removal from craftman riding mower

Do you have the rim and tire off and you want to remove the hub?
I believe every rider mower and tractor I've had and worked on had the rear tire attached to the hub as in a car, with lug nuts or lug bolts. Check to see if there are four or five lug bolts that hold the rim onto the hub.
