SOURCE: I HAVE ALSO LOST RECOVERY DISKS OF TOSHIBA TECRA A3 .

Toshiba carried the A# recovery CDs for 2 years.
After that the licence was given to another company.
At the begining of 2009, Microsoft told the company to stop.
A3 recovery is no longer available.

It has a memory problem, take the laptop to your local store and ask if they will test the memory for you, if it is the problem then you will have to purchase a new memoy module.

When booting laptop computer cannot find operating systom

You lost the operating "SYSTOM"? The only way to start up your computer is to install a whole new OS. If the Computer can accept a 64 Bit operating system, the new Windows 8.1 version that just came out is the best way to go.

Toshiba cannot find operating systom

It sounds like a drive failure, if you hear clicking noises then you have a very serious internal problem (heads or platters), I would recommend removing it and seeing ig you can access the drive on another machine, failing that you might need to send it to a recovery compnay such as Digital Recovery (www.digitalrecovery.co.nz) or you local one.

Cannot find operating systom

Either the hard drive is faulty, or the boot loader is corrupt. A quick way to check the drive would be to attach it to another computer to see if the drive is recognized.
If this is a windows OS you can try using the installation disk to repair the boot manager. If this is a linux system, try booting a live CD and see if there is data on the hard drive. You may need to reinstall grub.

I would also run smartmontools or Disk Sentinel to check the drive health in detail. Both applications are free.

Hard disc test failed, boot device not found, couldn'f find 2 HDD'S on system. These are my error codes

Most definitely. If the drive failed a S.M.A.R.T. test or DFT (drive fitness test) then replace the drive and re-install your OS, drivers etc.

I have removed the MK2546GSX. What can I connect to it to back up the files on this drive?

You should be able to plug a SATA connector cable in to it and plug that in to your desktop PC board and there is power cord adapters. I do it all the time when i am repairing them.

The toshiba dvdrom drive (Toshiba MK2546GSX) installed in my sony vaio laptop is set to region 2, which I bought in Ireland. I am now in the Philippines and would like to change the region to Region 3,...

You can change the region code on your DVD player only 4 times, then it will lock on that region permanently.
Please click on this link and follow my instruction for solutions to viewing DVDs from different regions :-

Well me cd dvd romdose not work well the drive dose but it dose not read my cds

Please check the connection inside maybe it is just loose. If that is SATA connection that is prone to disconnection but if that is IDE cable inside maybe cable loose contack. Try to open the PC and then pull and insert the cable firmly. Restart the computer.
