Power to the TV suddenly lost after 2 years use. Power cord checks out okay but pilot light doesn't come on and power switch next to cord on TV doesn't do anything.

How can I find a power supply module for FLM-323B for my Polaroid Model 3200 TV?

  • blavalley Sep 05, 2008

I have checked out the transformer and other various parts inside the tv and nothing seems to be burnt or discolored, though I have done this without de-soldering any of the parts. There are no odd smells either, so I am assuming that the fuse is burnt out, however the fuse is most likely behind the curcuit board, that is connected by the AC power cord. Is there a way of going about seeing this without de-soldering everything to get to it?

My Akai LCT 2662 will turn itself off, I restart it and a few minutes later it shuts off. The TV was only 2 years old and worked great. It this repairable and worth trying to repair.

    Hi,

Have been without my 26'' Acer LCD TV since last October, 2008. It's in Montréal, Canada and has been there since December. Prior to that in October, it was in a tech repair shop. It has a power supply problem. ''Apparently'', Montréal ordered the part but I can't get my TV back. I have even written to the President of Acer in San Jose, California, and so far, no response. No picture, no sound. When I turned it on, the yellow light came on and stayed yellow. The model No. is AL2671W. Do you know of anyone else who has this problem? It has been a nightmare for me. There are no authorized Acer repair shops to be found. Circuit City is the store that sent it to Montréal. I find the service totally unacceptale and will never buy an Acer product again. I am just plain disgusted with Acer.

Power went out suddenly while I was watching it. I then had a tech give it a once over and he claims the power supply box is no good, and will cost me five hundred bucks to repair!! Does this estimate sound fair?

From the symptoms you describe, it seems the high voltage flyback autotransformer has failed along with the horizontal amplifier (they are slaved to each other). It could also be a problem with a capacitor or resistors on the power board.

Well, the only way to solve this is to get a technician take a look at the set, I'm afraid. Repairs could cost upto $100 or more, depending upon the number of components that need to be replaced,

Hope that helps!

Our Proscan TV was working just fine then suddenly just lost power, there is power in the cord but the light won't turn on, is there a reeset button or fuse?

No the TV has failed. most likely the main PCB has failed or is shorted. To repair this will be close to the cost of a new TV at current prices.

Tv was working perfect...was using DVR and all of a sudden the tv lost power and will not power up

Did the power cord work itself loose in the back? That'd be the first thing I'd check. Sometimes it is just a simple fix. Hopefully your TV is okay.

Have if you can a look at the power supply board for signs of damaged parts and do not over look the filter caps there---see typical bad ones from mild to extreme:

HI HAVE A FLM-2632 THAT ALL OF THE SUDDEN LOST

If it's still under warranty the TV Service Shop will fix it for free if they are a qualified Polaroid servicer. If not I believe you are having problems with the power supply board not sending the Audio board the right voltage. Could be the Audio board itself. A Good TV Service Shop should be able to fix it. May cost you between $100 to 200 for the repair.

Koala babe, narrow the problem. Is there any sign of power presence in the unit. Could be just a power issue. You did not mention any lights indication on your front panel.

Good luck.
