Question about Lands Phones
I would suggest to open it and use a hair dryer to dry completely.
There might be some water still in the phone circuitry and if that is the case, it will not power up.

Did the phone worked when you bought it?
If the phone was expose to water and some might got into the circuitry and connectors and it was not dry properly; by now those connections around the LCD display might be oxidize and the phone may be not fixable.
WD 40 will not do any good to the phone.
If you open the phone, look for the place where the front display is connected using a flex cable and unplug it, once unplug you can use rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts and see if that might work.
If that does not work, the phone is damage and might only work if you can get another broken phone(same model) and swap the display.

Those screens do NOT like water, and it's likely that the water infiltrated the membrane, and shorted out the drive to it. happens to those sort of devices..you know..time for a new one, misfortunately

Thanks.
I should have given more info.
I bought the phone off Ebay about 9 months ago knowing it was water damaged. The seller hadn't tried a new battery - I thought that was an obvious thing to do, so I bought a new one.
The phone is as described before - what could I try next?
Thanks again.
No, it was sold as water damaged - I knew it didn't work.
Is it worth spraying with WD 40? If so, where do I spray?
Anything else I can try?
Ian
