All of these things have been done , I have even put a glass of water on the floor when the washer is spinning and there isn't even a riple on the water surface. then when it kicks into high all hell brakes loose.

the store now wants us to put a peace of 5/8 plywood under the washer and screw it down to the excessiting floor, but we have just put all new flooring down. I wish we had never got these , they are nothing but crapp.

Floor may not be as solid as you think.remove pedistal drawers make sure the screws holding pedistal to washer are tight 2 front and 2 back going into bottom of washer frame next adj legs so bottom of pedistal is as close to the floor as possible you may have to lossen the lock nuts to do this next try rocking the unit by hand and adj front legs as needed to stop motion and and give washer a solid feel retighten lock nuts up to bottom of pedistal

My Whirlpool front load washer is out of balance when spinning. It makes a loud noise. How do I get the tub back in balance? GHW9200LQ is the model.

Hi,
Whirlpool front load washers have shock absorbers that helps them in moving the washer around the place. Due to regular usage of the washer it may tend to break. This will result in drum hammering sound . To clear this problem pull the bottom front off and check the shocks. Typically the rings where the pins go through are where they will break. You have to grab them and should have a complete check by moving them to see that whether they are broken.
Thank you !!

Whirlpool Duet washer is off balance.

My wife and I just purchased the Whirlpool 9400 series washer and dryer. We loved the pair, the installers came in and set them up ran them rather quickly and showed us the features and left. We put our first load into the washer, I will add, it was a rather large load, but nothing bigger than what the washing machine would handle. Started the washer up and walked away. About 30 minutes later we walk back into the laundry room to see and hear the washer rocking the pedastle door right out of the pedastle and then started to walk itself about 12 inches from the wall. This was very dangerous to us as we have a 14mth old. We immediatly called the store who sent another installer over. He again checked it for levelness and said that this is a known issue and that we should consider buying the cabrio or taking the washer and dryer off the pedastles.

So, to solve this issue, I'm sure you are all waiting. Infact, the washer was level, however, and this is what I found to be key, Lift the washing machine off the front legs, raise them up about a 1/4" higher than the back legs, this will make the washer uneven from front to back, but the other key is to make sure that the nut on the washer leg is all the way up and tight against the washer. In my user manual it said use a 17mm open end wrench to lock the nut against the washer, but my nut was a 14mm.

Again, make the front of the washer a little higher than the back and make sure all the nuts that are on the washer legs are tight against the washer or pedastle.

My washer went from the house ********, to the thing that doesn't make any noise at all.
