Question about Wolf Range Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

Two problems: 1- Converted to LP by changing orfices on burners and oven. Problem is oven pilet light seems to big. Is there a way to turn it down? 2- Once oven is hot it won't shut off. Note: this is an older Wolf. At least 15 to 20 years old.

Once that you modified the orifices of the outlets ...(probably cause of the difference in the pressure of the fuel ) you can not get them back ..and the thing to do is to change the outlets with ones that will fit ...and either let them like they are even if the flame will be small ..or if you modify them do not enlarge them that much ..

Whirlpool WFG510S0AS2 range - stove burners work just fine, but both the oven and broiler does not stay lit. NOTE - this unit has been converted from natural gas to LP

when the lp conversion is done , it is normally just a jet size change that is done
however the air shroud has to also be adjusted to get a clean blue burn of the flame
The just jet change results in a slightly yellow flame which is incomplete burn of the gas and that creates carbon build up at the jet and burners causing partial blockage
I would suggest that you call in an accredited gas fitter to check the problem and if necessary , clean the jets and adjust the air shroud

Convert dfg200 from gas to lp

being this is a commercial oven you will nee3d to go to a commercial parts purveyor to get the conversion parts,on residential units the orfices are included with the range when new for conversion at any time, the gas orfices need to be changed on the top burners, then the orfice spuds in the oven bake and broil units need to be turned down onto the orfice for conversion, your commercial parts person will have the steps with the conversion kit to do the change-over

Intalled the 30" gas oven, converted to LP (both

Hello, thank you for posting. It sounds like you have done a little work to get the unit converted to LP. Make sure you didn't install the regulator upside down. Sometime you can get a defective regulator out of the box. Some of the regulators have the "N" for natural gas if so you need to convert this as well. I suggest you send a factory repair person just to double check on the unit. It well not cost anything to have them test out the unit if you feel the part is "broken".

Happy Holidays!
Please rate me "4 thumbs" if that was helpful.

How do i change from lp gas to natural gas on wall oven

First thing you will need to do is find out from the manufacturer of the oven if there is a conversion kit available and if the appliance is convertable. If there is then you can order the kit and follow the installation instructions. Also check the back of the oven for an envelope that may contain the gas orfice replacement heads to convert the appliance to natural gas. If you find the replacement orfice then you will need to remove the lp orfice from the burner and install the natural one. Then the appliance gas regulator will need to have the pressure adjusted lower for natural gas. There is usually a removable cap on top of the regulator on the oven. When you remove this cap there is usually a small metal ring that you can remove and flip over. It will say "nat" on one side and "lp" on the other. You will need to turn this ring over and re-insert so it displays "nat". This will change the gas pressure from 13 inches W.C. to 4 inches W.C. Some appliances only require the orfice change and no regulator adjustment but make sure that is the case with your oven because if you feed 13 inches W.C. pressure to a burner with a natural gas orfice...YOU WILL GET A HUGE BURNER FLAME AND MAY BURN/FLASH YOURSELF...So use extreme caution when converting a gas appliance. And if the oven has a pilot you will need to adjust the pilot pressure or change it's orfice if it has one. If it is electronic ignition no adjustment to that will be needed. Also unplug the electrical power the the unit while working on it.

I just converted a Tappan stove to lp and cant get to light. It acts like no propane is getting to the burners and pilots.

HI, Things to check. Did you reverse the cap on the regulator? Adjust the oven orfice by turning it clockwise until it reached the bottom of the threads? Some mofels have a small shut off on the gas valve as well.
Change the burner orfices?
Make sure the gas shut off valve is turned on all the way?
Just a check list. I hope this helps you.

Oven won't stay alight . has never worked from new . have checked all thermocouple connections all seem's well. probe is tight and in correct position.

To post a more specific solution you need to have the model number, but with the info you have given, I'm guessing that you have hooked the range up to LP gas and the range was not fully converted from natural to LP. If all burners burn nice, whomever converted the range may have missed one step. Many ranges with pilot lights have a small slot head screw behind the oven temp set knob which turns one way for natural, one way for LP.

Converting aan LP oven to gas

In most cases the pressure regulator has to be changed or adjusted. The orfices on each burner, oven, broiler and surface burner may need to be changed also. Sometimes they can be adjusted. Sometimes the threads on the pipe are different also. This is to prevent accidental connection to the wrong fuel. The big difference is the gas pressure. LP is usually around 10 - 12 lbs and natural gas is usually around 3 lbs. Properly adjusted you will like natural gas much better than LP as it is slightly hotter. The information will be in the instruction book and also on the Jenn air web site. Whirlpool owns both Maytag and Jenn aire so check all sites. The conversion kit is usually less than $50.
