Show a picture of the drain tube so I can access it with the back of the refrigerator off

There should be a tube, that leads to a defrost pan, under the box. Follow it up to the freezer. If the freezer is still freezing, you may never get it unclogged.

Need help to unclog a drain on a GE Profile Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model PFSS6PKW/PFSF6PKW. Specifically, where does the drain end? Behind the freezer & how to access it? Also found eroding t

You should be able to see where the drain tube comes out over the drain pan. Get some thin wire and run it down the tube and when it comes out in the drain pain, tie something onto it like a small piece of cloth and pull it back up through the drain tube to swab it out. The tape is no big issue, if you want to do something about the rust, there is a product that autoparts stores sell that turns rust into a hard, rigid metal. Or you can use a blow drier to make sure it is dried out and then spray rubber under coating on it.

I need to clear the drain line on my Amana ARB1917 bottom freezer refrigerator. I've accessed the short tube that is supposed to move the water from the fridge/freezer to the drain pan ... it's...

The way to check that everything is clear pour some water over the evaperator coil in the freezer and see that the water drains very quickly. Also you could use a can of compressed air that you would use to clean the keyboadr and what not on your computer and blow it in drain and clear anything remaining

Where is the drain llocated and how do i unclog it?

The drain is always under the freezer coils. On a lot of side-by-side models you can see the drain without taking anything apart just look at the bottom back of the freezers. On some side-by-sides and all top freezers you will have to remvoe the cover off the freezer coils to access the drain.

Once you access the drain remove all ice that is on top of the drain. Then use a turkey baser to force hot water down the drain untill water flows freely. The mix baking soda with water and pour it down the drain. Check out this page http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/refrigerator-leaking.html

Insert it in the drain in the bottom and squeeze it cleaning the drain. Several applications will solve the problem, and do not forget the refrigerator side as well.

Upright freezer

the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.

Leaking frig.

  • take out the back wall of the freezer and physically clean out the line. you may need to run a coat hanger or something down the drain to unclog it. also pour some hot water down the drain after you think you have it unclogged.
