SOURCE: LCW-0120 Labtec speaker polarity

I am assuming that you already know which wires go to which speaker and all you need to know is which one is negative and which one is positive. Here is one way to find out. If you can access the speakers at all or at least see the cones, it will be easy.
Take a small 1.5v battery and connect it to the wires in question, connect one end to the positive(+) and the other to the negative (-) side of the battery, don't do it for a long time, just enough to observe movement on the speaker cones. Observe the cones of the speakers, if the cones get pushed or moves out, take note of the polarity of the battery because now you know which is which. Now if the cones, move inward or it gets sucked in when you apply voltage, then it's backwards.

SOURCE: JBL Media 100 Speaker power?

Buy a power adapter from radio shack or similar place. You need a 1000mA 12 volt dapter. Just make sure it is rated @ or above 1000mA to avoid the adapter heating up and possibly burning. The whole setup is rated @ 850mA wich 1A(1000mA) should handle with enough head room. But it might run you about $15-20. I would just buy a cheap radio with rca inputs/aux input and use that. I got one from Walmart for around $40 and it plays CD's & AM/FM.

Hello, can someone help me, i want to know how to connect the wires if i want to use 2 channel instead of 4. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In order to bridge an amp, you will connect the positive lead of a speaker to one positive input on the amp, and instead of connecting the negative lead to the negative input next to the positive input you just connected, connect it to the negative input on the neighboring +/- pair. For a 4 channel amp, there should be 4 +/- pairs. you will treat 2 of these pairs as one channel, and the other 2 pairs as the other channel. Do the process described above for the other speaker as well. Here is a link with helpful pictures: http://www.ehow.com/how_5305710_bridge-channel-amp.html

What voltage and polarity do the ACS-5 speakers require?

Computers always use DC voltage. Computer speakers receive DC voltage from the computer.
DC voltage has a Positive and Negative polarity.

In the power jack of the speaker, the Center pin is the Positive connection. The outer shell is the Negative connection.

Center hole of the DC adapter plug - Positive.
Outer shell of the DC adapter plug - Negative

Voltage 5 Volts DC.

AVS 500 subwoofer speaker

If you have a digital tester just select DC voltage then connect the positive leads of the digital tester to any of the wire coming out of the 18V adapter (WARNING do not connect to the wire connected to the main) and then the other lead of the digital tester which is the negative connected to the other wire of the 18V adaptor. If in the screen of the digital adapter reads a negative value, then it indicates that the other wire is the negative and the other is positive. Otherwise if the tester reads a positive value then your tester's leads have got the right connection.
P.S. please rate me.
