Since everything is working with the other computers and you have reinstalled the software the the problem is with Windows or the user profile that you are running the program under.

So I would recommend that you try to rebuild the user profile that you are trying to run the program under. To see if this fixes the problem.

If you need help rebuilding the profile let me know if it a local or network account. Note if you are just using a Workgroup and not a Domain the account is still a local account.

OK, you MUST run the .exe as Administrator, you MUST install as Administrator.
If it is NOT an Explicitly designed for Win 7 designed software you need to install and run in Compatibility mode for XP SP 2.
Also, if it uses a Driver, you MUST set Digital Driver Signing to OFF, at Boot Up. Press F8, and go to the bottom and Disable Digital Driver Signing.
Also IF this is the case, re, the Driver, you MUST do this each and every time you boot up. There is NO way around, IF the driver isn't Digitally Signed.
This should sort you.

Hi. Please check the system date of your computer and adjust to current date if necessary. It may have been accidentally changed to 2012.

To check system date, point your mouse over the time displayed on your taskbar (bottom-right of your screen). The date will be displayed. To correct the date, double-click the time and the calendar window will pop-up. Make adjustment as needed. Thanks.

Mathcad 11 will it run on 64 bit system under windows 7

According to their website, it will run under a 64-bit Windows 7 system as long as the program is started in 32-bit mode.

What is the procedure to install a 32-bit softwares in to my laptop(windows 7,home premium,64-bit) ?

Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
Device drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you're trying to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows.

Windows 7 64bit does run programs that will run on windows 7 32bit, see here

How Windows 7 / Vista 64 Support 32 bit Applications

BUT not ALL 32bit programs will run on Windows 7!!! There are many programs that will run on Windows XP and before that will not run on Windows 7. IF you had Windows 7 Pro version (or upgrade) there is a program you can download from Microsoft that will simulate an XP environment to allow programs to run called "XP MODE".
Try to install the 32bit software first. If installation not succeed, it would be better if you first look into a newer version of the program you want to run.You have to consider that a newer version of your program might not be that much more expensive than upgrading to pro, and with the newer version, usually comes newer features.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

I have an old Princeton VL 173 that I had been using with an old computer running Windows XP Pro. It works fine. Got a computer with an Asus MB and a Intel Core 2 Quad running Windows 7 Home Premium...

It sounds like a driver/software issue. When you ran the Princeton VL173 on XP you probably had all the correct software for your video card and the correct drivers to support your video output. When you changes OS to Windows 7, the XP drivers are no longer in place. My best guess is that you need to find and install the correct drivers for your system video and for your video card that are Windows 7 compatible. The old XP drivers will not work in Windows 7.

I am running XP with a Princeton VL173. It works great. I identified the correct video drivers for my system and installed them. My video card is nVidia 8800GT. I downloaded and installed the latest software from nVidia and installed it. It runs like a champ.

Several months ago my display died. It was just blank -- black. I tried using a power supply (AC adapter) from an old HP printer that died, and it worked! The plugs were identical, and the power output profiles were very nearly identical. It has been rinnung great for many months now.

I hope this helps.

I use act 6.0 i run a business where all i need is name address phone number e mail and calender and i use the act word processor for letters and labels own three xp computers. Love this program . want to...

There are a few things you can try.

1: Try and run ACT in compatibility mode.
Install the program normally
Go to the Directory where Act runs, usually Program Files
Right click on the Act program
Click on the compatibility tab
Select Windows XP
Try and run the Program

2: This one will be a little bit tricker and I won't list out steps unless you really want to try this route. Create a Virtual Machine, or Virtual PC, depending on if you use VMWare, or Virtual PC.

Hope this helps a little bit

"UPDATE - summary added, history moved to end: This problem seems to be caused either by malware (virus or spyware etc), or by software following a Windows update or some other software installation or uninstallation (particularly HP, Norton or QuickTime software) trying to check for removable media that isn't there (e.g. disc in DVD drive or card in card reader), when it shouldn't be doing that check."
