Frigidaire MODEL# GLHS67EEPB0 MNFTR DATE 03/05 Dispencer started smoking and smelled like burnt plastic. After ice and water dispenser stopped working. Then water tube dispenser spits water approximately every 10 min short 3-4 second bursts. What are parts i will need?

Hi there, did you find the answer to this problem? We have exactly the same issue. We noticed a burnt smell in the freezer, mainly transferring to our hands when we touched packaging. The ice dispenser was working fine but the ice started to taste funny (a bit like burnt plastic) and had black bits in it. We took it out to clean the tray and since putting it back in, it just won't work. We don't know if we have put it back in wrong or if something has blown. We can still hear the motor when we try to press for ice, but nothing comes out. No water is making its way into the ice cube tray to form the ice, but we still have cold running water. I would be so grateful for any help. Thanks

I have a artic and it has a motherboard in it. This is the most common problem.They are easy to replace and you can get one on the internet pretty cheap.First look at the mobo for any burnt spots on it. If so then get the # off the board and search for it.

My kenmore started dispensing ice and water for no reason. After unplugging, I removed the cover from ice/water dispenser and discovered a burnt circuit board. Leave the board unplugged until you can obtain a good circuit board.

check the water line fron filter that continues on to water dispfrom icemaker, also a bad water disp solenoid or no pwr to water valve disp solenoid could be a problem,when you try to disp water can you hear a click from the solenoid operating to let water out?

you must start at the bottom prying the plastic off carfully with a flat head screw driver.

check drip pan for smell see if ice maker lever switch is up for noise

you could have a problem with your dispenser module. a burnt pcb that could lead to all of your problems. switches not working, lights not working, dispenser not working, etc.

check your dispenser module and if you find a burnt part or a burnt PCB, then replace it.

It would depend on the age of the refrigerator whether repair is economical. If the refrigerator is under ten years old repair it. If it is over ten years old you have to consider how much life is remaining for the refrigerator. Burnt smell source must be located because that is the key to your problem. It could be a simple matter of replacing the switch in the door.

My unit is only 2 years old.  It was bought Spring 2006.  

We had the same problem. Our frigerator is 1.5 year old. Everytime we try to dispence water or ice the dispencer clicks and the whole thing turns of. We had a GE repairman come by: the electronic board needs to be replaced: total cost $350. (cost of the board only: $150. We are considering disconnecting the dispencer by unplugging the board (according to the repain man the ice maker wil still work)or buy a new refrigurator (for sure NO GE!!!!!!)
