Question about Jacuzzi - Whirlpool - Corner - Gallery corner - R230917

Open Question

I have replaced the jaccuzi ED6300 controller twice in as many days. The tub will run fine for 3-5 minutes. then for some reason not known to me the tub will not shut off with the button. I must unplug the device, I can immediately plug in the tub motor without the ED6300 and it will run. I immediately return the ED6300 into the circuit and the tub will not turn on. I am at a loss. It is hard for me to believe that I recieved two bad units. The tub has been in service for almost 2 years with no problems.

SOURCE: Spa / hot tub does not heat

Your temperature control is way out of calibration or, it's wired wrong. Remove it and check it in a glass of water. Use an ohm meter across the heater wires. As you add hot wwater, the heater contacts should open.

SOURCE: Jacuzzi whirlpool, air on/off button on tub

If it is a air button that pushes in and comes back up, there is a good chance that the switch (which is mounted on the pump/motor) is bad. If the switch is a touch button on a key pad, the problem is in the control box for the pump/motor.

SOURCE: black spider like material that may come from jaccuzi

Is it greasy, oily spider web type junk? Coming through the pipes, new construction or new tub? Could be from the pump, not that it is leaking oil but it has oil in it from the manufacture of it. I would call the jacuzzi people and tell them what you have and that your kids play in the tub and drink the stuff, ought to get them to move on that one. Ask them if they know what it is and what to do about it? Hope this helps.

HotSprings hot tub trips circuit breaker

Could be a wrong breaker for that circuit or a problem with the tub.
• first see if there are other lines on that circuit- should be only the tub.
• Check the specs for the tub that the circuit is the correct amperage.
• if clear on those items, there is a problem with the unit and that's another question.

My pump keeps running when the off bottom is pushed. What causes this

I don't know if you have the same problem, I had to replace the low voltage controller, The unit was a ED6300, an in line plug and play unit, very simple to replace, the only problem is that the replacement unit only lasted 2 days, I purchased another and the same results. I am not sure what is causing the units to fail. I find it hard to believe after two years of service that I would go thru two units in as many days. There are no serviceable parts in the unit. It's all PC with a relay. I suspect the relay coil has opened up but as of yet I have not proven this.

We bought a house with a hot tub and do not have the instructions to it. We have a Manatee Electric spa heater made by Tropic Air Products, Inc manuf. 4/1997 model E-11 11 KW AMPS. We would love some...

I just looked at the exploded drawing for the Manatee. It looks like a very simple heater. The heater will simply come on whenever the pump is running and the thermostat says that the tub is not hot enough. So, for the heater, set it and forget it.

The adjustment you can make is by setting the low-speed pump timer. There should be a timer on the control box, somewhere. Generally, you set the timer to come on for a couple of hours, twice a day. During those times, the pump will come on low-speed and the heater will come on as needed.
Keep in mind that the tub will only heat when the pump is running so you will want to set the timer so that the tub has been running for at least an hour when you will be ready to use it.

Most controls will also allow you to put the pump on thermostat control, usually with a switch (timer/ t-stat). By running on t-stat control, the low-speed pump and heater will turn on whenever the temperature drops a couple of degrees.

Timer control is usually more efficient for two reasons:
1. The tub doesn't heat water when you don't need it (like while you are sleeping or at work).
2. The pump isn't cycling on and off all day and night. Cycling is not very efficient.

Tip: If you want to soak when the tub isn't hot, just turn the pump on for 10 minutes or so before you get in. That is a pretty big heater, and unless you have very poor insulation or a worn-out cover, the temp shouldn't drop too fast.

Another tip: The best way to save money on a tub is to maintain your pH. Check it EVERY WEEK! Incorrect pH will shorten the life of your heater and seals. One service call would have paid for a lot of electricity.

Please feel free to post follow-up questions.

Jaccuzi hot tub will not heat?

sounds like it maybe the heater again. Have you pulled it out and checked the ohms? it should be at least 10.5 ohms
it could be the thermostat or the pressure switch - if either of those are not working it will not heat either.

Maytag Neptune Max Extract Quit Working

More information about the problem is needed...there are two levels of spinning..."regular" and "Max Extract" The Max setting spins the tub much faster. If you are having trouble with really wet clothes being left in the washer...haven't really been spun at all...this might have a couple of solutions. First, check the "out of balance" switch (a little plastic square with two green wires attached) located at the base of the tub on the front on my stacked unit. Because of the vibration in the tub, the wires on mine have broken twice.right at the switch. The other possibility is the main circuit board. Check out the internet for solutions/replacements.
My washer's Max setting is not working...and I don't know the reason for this...any help? Thanks...
