You need number 8
That is a thermophile. It is weak. The thermophile costs more than a thermocouple. It puts out millivolts which operate the solenoid. It is a simple system. When the thermophile gets weak it will hold the pilot but die when the solenoid is called for by the thermostat to open the gas gates so we can fry baby fry! LOL
Replace that thermophile. That's cheapest. If that don't fix it you is gonna need a gas valve.

According to my spell check thermophile is the correct spelling. HaHa. Dang computers. The thermophile does double duty. It holds the safety magnet open AND it operates the gas valve. As the demand for heat is called for the thermostat completes the circuit to the gas valve solenoid. When the thermophile gets weak and gas is called for the whole thang simply dies.

I need a new drain valve for American Range fryer. Where can I order one, and what size is it?

American Range part number A80201. It's an NFS approved stainless ball valve, generally 1.25". If you Google American Range A80201 you can find it on line for less than $70. You must use an NSF approved valve to comply with health codes.

Help flames front of fryer

Hi there.
Try to check and clean if needed the fire tubes, soot may have build up inside blocking the flame path. Soot build up on fire tubes and burners are caused primarily by low gas pressure, assuming that the orifice size are correct with respect to the type of gas used.
Regards.

Turn on the pilot , when turn on the burnes evreting off

Hi there.
Ensure that the gas supply pressure is sufficient and the thermopile should be free of soot or any form of dirt, also the pilot flame should heat up the thermopile efficiently.

Fryer overflows often, turned thermostat down from 350 to approx 340 but food does not cook then. could the thermostat be bad? 10 degrees should not make that much difference.

Does the fryer have a" temperature reached light"? If so switch the fryer on and with the thermostat dial starting at its lowest setting increase the temperature setting in small increments. When the light indicates temperature reached, increase the thermostat dial temperature. Continue until maximum temperature reached.

If (starting from cold) the temerature reached light only shows when high up on the thermostats temperature scale, then unfortunately the thermostat needs replacing.

Hope this helps.
