My bluray cannot get past the gateway. I get error messages saying physical service is connected but it can't connect to the external service provider. It is a Samsung bluray Another error message is "due to changes in WiFi policy cannot support the TKIP security type in802.11 mode. Check securitysettings at the access point."

Ok, what this all means is that the WEP/WAP key you are using for security, isn't compatible with what you are attempting to use it with, in your Router.
Either UN-secure the network, or if possible you must use a "Key" that is compatible. You must change the encryption method, to a simper one.
Get it all working, UN-secured, and then try setting the "Keys".

I had the same problem. You are right, Samsung tech support is awful. When I pulled the system out of my cabinet I was able to connect wirelessly. But in the cabinet it wouldn't work. I think my cabinet was blocking the wireless signal. Fortunately, I have a wireless ethernet bridge with a gigabit switch on my cabinet that hooks up my Panasonic plasma. I ran an ethernet cable to the BD-C6500 and the problem was resolved. If there is any way, try running an ethernet cable to your player. I know this defeats the purpose of wireless, but it worked for me.

Hello sir, let me give you some tips, you can dismantle it and get the HDD unit, buy a cheap external SATA usb hdd enclosure with USB 2.0 . Well all of them are 2.0 compatible (the unit without the HDD) and put it there. you can always keep the old one for posterity. hope this helps.

click start then run, then type cmd click ok
This should give you a black cmd window. In the window type ping and you should see a few messages saying reply from.......

Just unplug the hard drive cable and plug it again. otherwise if problematic replace the cable.

A hardware error usualy indicated a bad network cable or a bad network card. Have you tried using a different Cable?
