Question about Samsung RS2534 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

I accidently left the freezer compartment partially open over night. Everything melted. Now that the door is properly shut it seems like it is not getting cold. How long would it take for the freezer to reach its desired temp. I've misplaced my manual

If the freezer empty it might take an hour. If there is product in the freezer it will take longer depending on how much is in there. If it does not cool down. Your evaporator coil may be iced up from trying to cool the freezer all night. To fix this problem just unplug the box and remove all the items from the freezer and leave the door open for a few hours to defrost the the coil. After this everything should be fine. I hope this helps you. Please leave feedback. Thank you.

Freezer door was left open, now after one day freezer is not cold

you can unplug it and let it defrost on it's own or you can melt out the air ducts, you'll have to shut down the freezer, remove the shelves and remove the inside back wall of the freezer section and melt out all the ice in the right hand corner and any ice on the coil.when melting out the air ducts be careful not to damage any of the plastic or styrofoam on or inside the wall, heat up the area with a hair dryer for a couple of minutes and then move to the coil, after a minute or two go back the the air duct, when you think it's melted out enough turn the freezer back on and with your hand check to make sure the air is blowing into the fridge side,if you can feel air blowing then your all set,if there's any ice left in there the defrost will take care of it.if you have another fridge to put your food in or if the food can't be refrozen i'd just unplug it and let it melt out on it's own over night and you can clean it out while everything is out of it.let me know how you make out and good luck, hope you didn't loose that much food

Freezer only works on bottom

The evaporator has most likely built up with ice on it. this usually makes the fresh food section go out first. the best coarse of action is to remove freezer panel and make sure return air or vents are not blocked with ice..if these vents are blocked no ff section locate the vents that allow air to flow down and open...good luck..bruce denton

Freezer door was accidently left open for about three hours -- now the top compartment and the freezer are warm -- everything has defrosted -- and nothing will re-freeze -- ice can not be made -- strange...

Switch off the unit at the wall and leave it for a day to cool off. I think your compressor has overheated and has cut out on thermal overload. There should not be any problem with leaving the door open. The problem with the compressor is likely caused by poor power supply or a power surge.

Kenmore upright freezer

reason is that the evaporator is blocked with ice and hence no air circulation.
either
switch off for 24 hours with doors open
or
remove back panel inside freezer and melt ice off with a hairdryer

Freezer door rubbing

take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.

the evaporator is probably iced up and hence poor air flow. (i am assuming it is a frost-free type). switch off and leave for 24 hours with door open is the easy cure. otherwise, remove the back inside panel of the freezer and melt off the excess ice with a hairdryer used carefully
