Question about Kodak ESP 3 Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

1 Answer

ESP3 Printer purchased on 11th August 2009. Error message 'Printhead Missing'. Have Taken out and re-installed 3 times. Also fitted new KODAK cartridges. Your advisor AZAELRSL latest message is that the mainboards processor is at fault 'A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH KODAK PRINTERS' and 't ime for a new one' That is not good enough, a printer with just over 12 months use and needing to be replaced because of a problem peculiar to KODAK. is unacceptable, therefore this printer is not of merchantable quality Comments please Richard Nelson

You need a new printhead. The ones that come with the printer seem to be faulty. Call KODAK technical support and they will send you one for free. Great service.

KODAK printers are sold with faulty printheads. They will send you a new one for free. But you're right - it's not worth it.

Kodak EXP5 printhead malfunction

YES - you need a new printehad. Very common problemwith KODAK printers. They should send you a new printhead for free - they did me. Their technical support is great (although in India) but they should send you a new one for free.

Could you please tell me how to clkean the heads

Run a printhead cleaning if color is faded or missing by pressing and holding Copy and Cancel at the same time.

If you need the printer user manual, here is a link to the download...

I have a kadak esp3 aioprinter. It shut off on me when I was printing. At first it wouldn't come back on, so I unplugged it and it came on with an error. It says the printhead is missing or not installed...

may be the Printhead is not installed correctly. make sure that it clicks in to place when you reseat it. go to www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport for demo on how to install it correctly. If this does not solve the issue, call kodak @ 1800 421 6699 and they will replace the printhead for you free of cost

Kodak all in one printer instalation error codes

Unfortunately, the only way to possible fix this error is to get the printhead out and reseat it. You can do that by removing the ink cartridges. Right above where the black ink cartridge was, at the top left hand corner of the printhead, if you push up towards the ceiling there should be a button that releases the printhead. You should now be able to tilt the printhead forward and pull it out of the printer. Reseat the printhead by putting it back in the printer and pushing straight back on the back wall of the printhead. It should snap into place. Replace the ink cartridges and close the printer. If the error clears, download the newest firmware from kodak.com so this never happens again.

If these steps do not clear the error however, call Kodak AiO tech support at 1800 421 6699 to get a new printhead.

Newly installed and getting error on printhead and ink cartridges

If that error happens every single time you turn on the printer, that pirnthead is faulty.
But if the error only happens some times, try a firmware update from www.kodak.com/go/downloads

Error message: Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose

In regards to the error message with the printhead missing or come loose......I had that issue just shortly after I installed my printer. I was going crazy trying to fix it taking it out and reinstalling which was a pain, removing the cartridges and then the printhead to no avail. Finally I got smart and disconnected the power cord from the printer itself, not directly from the outlet. Once I did that and turned the printer back on the error was gone. It might have been a fluke, but it worked for me, so you might want to try it.
