Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
This looks like a bad thermostat - it's either full on or full off, no setting in between. It should be replaced. The procedure isn't complicated: all you need to do is to remove the trim that's covering it, disconnect the wires, unhook the tube from the coils at the rear and pull it out. Fitting a new one is in reverse. All you need to be careful is when you remove the parts: look for every hidden screw, be very gentle with the plastic clips and never force anything.
If you haven't done something like this before then every fridge repair guy can do it for a much lower bill than the ones from Sears.
