Connect the drive to the computer usb port. locate "my computer" in your start menu, double click it to view all drives. you should see a drive marked "Removable Drive something", double click it to open the usb drive. now leave that window open... Again, go to start menu, open "my Documents" locate and open "my pictures" now use the ctrl key in combination with your mouse to click on the folders or pictures you wish to move (keep the ctrl pressed while you select) they turn blue as you select them. Once selected use Ctrl and the C key at the same time to Copy the selection. now, go back to your removable drive window that is behind your my pictures window, click on the white area in the window and use CTRL in combination with the V key to paste your selection into your USB flash drive, now wait until its all done moving the files.... count an extra 20 seconds after its done before you remove the device to move to another computer. Please use "recommend"+ with your comments if you find this useful . cheers

Usb flash drive how to use

On Windows systems you may drag and drop or copy and paste.
Bring up your flash drive by double clicking it : Start - Computer -click on the flash drive.. Make that window smaller by clicking on the square "windows" icon if you want . Then you can open the files you wish to copy, highlight them and right click "copy" then click on the flash drive window and right click and "paste" Or you may open both the flash drive window and the files you wish to copy window and drag and drop them into the flash drive window by clicking on the file and holding the mouse button down while "dragging" it into the flash drive window then releasing the mouse button.

I haven't used a flash drive before. Can you tell me how to download picture files to this flash drive? I have an emachine XP Thank you

Hi,

There are a couple of ways you could download pictures to the flash drive.

Method 1
1) Locate the pictures you wish to download to your flash drive
2) Right click on the file and select "Copy"
3) Click on "Start"
4) Click on "My Computer"
5) Double click on the flash drive. It will most likely be called "Removable Media" or "Cruzer"
6) Right Click any blank space and select "Paste"

Method 2
1) Click on "Start"
2) Click on "My Computer"
3) Double click on the flash drive. It will most likely be called "Removable Media" or "Cruzer"
4) Locate the pictures you wish to download to your flash drive
5) Click and hold on the picture you wish to download and then drag the file to the window with the flash drive in. Then release the mouse button.

Either method works, method 1 is much easier to explain in words though!

If you are already familiar with organising files, it is easiest to think of the flash drive as just another folder. Just one you can take with you!
