I have windows vista home premium. trying to install your canoscan 8800f scanner to my system. software will not install correctly per exact instructions. fining out that there is possibly no update provided that will adapt your 8800f scanner to vista------- is this correct? if so, i will be returning it back to the store!

What do I download to update my driver on my scanner Canon CanoScan 8800F

Canoscan 8800f error as ''cannot connect with scanner''


I had the same problem with a new canoscan 8800f. I found by connecting the scanner USB lead to a USB 1 .1 port instead of a USB 2.0 port the problem seems to have been was solved. I was fortunate to have both. Originally it was just USB 1.1 ports on my PC, but I added USB 2.0. I don't know how you solve the problem if you only have 2.0 ports.

Scanner won't work with windows vista


Option one: Scan using Windows Fax and Scan
  1. Click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif ), click Programs , and then click Windows Fax and Scan .
    NOTE: The Windows Fax and Scan option is available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista. If you have the Home Basic or Home Premium edition of Windows Vista, skip to Option two: Scan using Paint .
  2. Click New scan .
  3. Click File , and then click Scan .
Option two: Scan using Paint
  1. Click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif ), click Programs , and then click Accessories .
  2. Click Paint .
  3. Click File , and then click From Scanner or Camera .
  4. Click Scan .

Installing f300 all-in-one series printer, to computer w/windows vista home premium[32]


Go here to and click on your specific model, then click on 'Software & Driver downloads', then your Operating System, and you should now be able to download the correct driver package for your printer. I hope that helps. Bundled software with printers and other devices is often out-of-date.
