There is two causes to this fault. The first one is the absence of voltage to video output transistors. Check the input voltage, it should be around 290VDC, that supplies the collector terminal to each video output transistors. The second reason is failure of color matrix section circuit. This circuit is within the Chroma IC. If this is the case, the IC should be replaced. If you're not familier with electronics, it is best to contact any service technician.

When we try to turn on the tv (toshiba model 32A43) it makes the sound of turning on then off and the screen stays black and a red light by the power button keeps binking

You're either losing high voltage or power supply is not producing the horizontal drive signal, Check for 130v on the collector of the horizontal output transistor, if you're missing your voltage, you have a power supply problem. If voltage is too high you have something open in the power supply such as a low value resistor. If its low, something is shorted in power supply, possibly voltage regulator ic.

Please help me, i'm repairing 14" old model television.. it don't have brand name but it is using 47C434N-R201 system, TA8680N video chroma IC, 30115 regulator, my problem is it don't have...

Good day!

Try to check the base of the horizontal output if have a signal from the chroma or jungle i.c it should have 5-7vac to trigger the high voltage. If no voltage try to hang it and check again if the voltage appear while you hang it,your ply-back got partially defects replace it with the same type and ratings.
Next,if you already hang the base of h-out and still no voltage on it and the chroma i.c is new.Trace the line from the base of h-out to the chroma/jungle i.c.Test the parts that pass through that line such as open/change value resistors.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you I'm very glad to share my idea.Good luck.

it flashes 6 time because its horizontal oscillator have some problem. can be caused by the malfunction of main chroma ic. it generates all the sync signals. or the horizontal driver transistor or horizontal driver transformer. also check the collector voltage of the horizontal driver transistor. also check the frequency at the base it should be 15625 Hz. check the power supply voltage of main ic also .
ok .

No color.

Hello strata_rocks,

This denotes a possible malfunction of the chroma (color) circuits in your TV. You will need to check and see if your chroma signal is being generated at the output of the video processor IC. In addition you want to check the video signal to make sure that the color burst signal is present once the video signal is modulated from the IF input section of the video processor.

These are start off points for your troubleshooting. If you do not have a background in electronics, you have two options, the first is to replace the video board, the second option is to have a qualified TV repair person work on your television and change the board out, after troubleshooting the problem.

Thank you,

The 8V at pin 36 won't show unless there is oscillation, the primary voltage pin is pin 10, 8v. Don't mind me asking, you have checked the B+, right? Because the blinking LED is often because of power supply problems. And if that's okay, desolder the horizontal driver output legs and connect an LED to find if it is oscillating, if it does, forget the ic part and move on with the FBT and things. Good luck.

from voltage given by you states that rgb output voltage is more than normal & drive is only .2 volt which is abnormal means signal is not coming from chroma ic. so check for loose connection in chroma ic or connector loose. same time your drive voltage abnormal is due to signal not coming so no voltage drop & more voltage. also check for crt base loose. hope this will help. good luck.
