Well yes i think that everyone has had the same problem as i have.

My laptop has noticed the adapter in it... but now for some reason it wont notice it and now it is stuck on the laptop being shut off and now it wont recognize the adapter when i plug it in. What should i do? Is it the adapter? The battery? Any suggestions?

The battery works correctly in another compaq nc6120, The "loader" (the energy source) works correctly in other compaq nc6120, but mine does not work with or without the battery or the source of energy. I try it with other batteries and sources of energy and it continues without igniting. The pilot of the battery of the laptop one puts on brilliant orange during a few seconds when I connect the energy source to go out a few seconds later. If the battery is connected and needs to be recharged goes on from brilliant orange to a more tenuous orange color until the load finishes (in this moment passes to green for a few seconds). If the battery does not need to be recharged directly the pilot goes out

My laptop is completely dead, fine yesterday. Today no lights, sounds nothing. I tried removing the battery , unplugging no response. Thanks,

Remove the battery for at least 3 minutes... Then put it back and then plug in the charger and switch on the charger. If the battery is completely drained, it would take a while for the charging to initiate. Please have patience and leave it on charging even though without the charging indication for at least an hour. After that still if the charging indicator doesn't lit, then its definitely your charger or laptop. You will need to take it to a service centre in that case.

I have a new toshiba L675D-S7052 laptop. I just got it yesterday and today it won't turn on. I have tried the charger from my other toshiba computer and also switch batteries with my other toshiba...

You can try removing the battery and unplugging the laptop in order to try to perform a "power drain" on it. To perform a "power drain" after you have removed the battery and unplugged the power cord, press and hold the power button down for about 30 seconds.
Once you have done this, attach the battery and power cord and see if it will power-up.
If it does not power-up, then the laptop has failed and you should take it back for a refund or replacement.

How can i replace my turn on/off switch ?

Try first to remove the cables and battery to it. Then press and hold the power button for 10 secs. Then reinsert cables and battery. If didn't turn on, try to remove cables and battery again. Then remove the screws at the bottom part of the laptop. Then remove the hard drive and optical drive. Then unscrew the screws at the front part of the laptop, and then remove the motherboard and keyboard then you can replace the on/off switch...

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop that will not power up.

Get sure the memories are good. then try reseting the BIOS by removing the BIOS batery, let it out for 5 minutes and place it again. Though you have to disassembly almost the whole laptop. If dont, chek the other "pheripheral" devices, HDD, DVD, and another (If)

I have a dell Inspirion 9400 and it won't start. When I press the power button, all that happens is the power light and the dvd player light comes on and about 3 seconds it turns off. Does it with and...

It shows no power on your laptop but it shows you the dvd player led comes on then off. I would suggest try the following:
1. Remove laptop battery, optical drive, hard drive and ram. Remove external peripherals as well. 2. Make sure AC Adapter is not yet connected to the laptop. Press and hold on the laptop's power button for 10 seconds to drain the power flea. 3. Connect the AC Adapter to a known good power outlet, check AC Adapter power LED if it is on. Try to sense if AC Adapter is not making a bit of noise when it is plugin to the wall power outlet. 4. Connect now the AC Adapter to the laptop. Check if AC Adapter LED stays on when it is connected to the laptop. If the LED stays on means the AC Adapter is fine. If the AC Adapter LED turned off check the AC Adapter pin that goes to the laptop AC socket if it is loose. 5. If AC Adapter stays on after connecting to the laptop try to power on laptop. If no power LED comes on then this is motherboard problem. 6. Before replacing the motherboard there is one checking needs to do. If you can open your laptop bottom part then good, do this when laptop is not connected to any power source. Try to reseat the laptop CMOS battery then try to power on laptop after, if still fails then replace motherboard. I hope this helps.

My inspiron 6000's power flickers on and off intermittently, switching between A/C & battery power. I've replaced the power cord. Any other ideas?

Try removing batt and use ac adapter alone. Check if laptop works fine also check if LED flickers still.

Try removing ac adapter and use battery alone and check if batt flickers as well.

If flickering only happens when both are connected or vice versa try this first. Update the BIOS for your laptop. Download the BIOS update from http;//support.dell.com

Laptop

If it was working fine before then are many reasons why this could happen
1. Battery is old and is dead
2. Battery not plugged in properly
3. Carbon might have appeared at the ports where the charge passes thru in the laptop
Solution: open the cover where u put the battery, The ports where the battery goes in , try to touch the metal area with any other metal so that if there is any carbon it passes thru to the other metal... and the ports become free
4. Try to do a flee power release
MAke sure battery is fully charged.
Take out the battery from laptop
when the battery is out , press the powe button on laptop for 30 sec and then put the battery in ur lapyop and try to trun it on by pressing the power button firmly.
IT shud work

OR

Try different batteries ( u can borrow )
if it still does not work
They contact laptop vendor , the ports where the power from battery goes in to ur system are faulty
Take it to an authorized service center.
