I need to know how to change the language on my compaq laptop presario

This could be damage of system files or incorrect language setting.
will need more detail to determine which.
However both could usually resolved by re-installing the windows from the CD provided

To change the language try :

start -> setting -> control panel -> regional and language option

click start control panel,regional and language options select regional language options from the drop down list select the language you want also from the bottom drop up list you can select your present location location

I don't think there is an option for language in Symantec AntiVirus. You may simply have to purchase an English version of the program.
