Question about Brother Sewing Machines

1 Answer

I have a Brother Ult 2001 and I was right in the middle of monogramming a towel using the large frame when I ran out of bobbin. I took the frame out and changed the bobbin and when I returned the frame to the machine it is giving an error message that I need to change to larger frame but I am using the larger frame. Now no matter what frame I put into the machine, the machine is not recognizing it. I have turned it off, unplugged it and tried to start over, but no success. Do you know how to reset the machine to recognize the frame that is in?

My friend just had this problem a couple weeks ago. Here's what we did. We cleaned the bobbin case with canned air lightly. We turned the machine off and disconnected the embroidery unit. Turned the machine on without the embroidery unit and ran a straight stitch. Then we turned it off, reattached the embroidery unit and touched another design of a different size. Attached the hoop without fabric just to see if it would "take it" and it did so we put the right size hoop back on and selected the design we were on originally and it worked. Some times these machines are just "touchy" and don't let you do something and after a "rest" they're ok. I hope this works for you.

I just had this serviced and I embroidered a few items, I thought that it sounded a little loud. all of a sudden the needle broke. I took the bobbin out and there are scratches on the bobbin shuttle, and...

I would take it back and tell them to fix it right. Was it an authorized service center? If, it was there should be no question. As long as you had your needle inserted right, I don't see how it could be your fault.

What type of bobbin is used for the Brother DIsney ULT-2002D? I see L and A types.

For the price of them - try buying both, then buy more of the one that works best.

Machine skips stitches when sewing thru several layers of fabrics

Is your needle new? The needle needs to be replaced every 8 hours on a regular sewing machine, and the ULT benefits from even more frequent changes. Also try a bigger needle, if you're using a 75/11 move to a 90/14, make sure your needle matches what you're doing, you might not think those little needle tips differ much but they really do.

The manual also mentions if there is to much lint under the needle plate. Keep in mind all sewing machines need the bobbin area cleaned out every time you change the bobbin, but the ULT likes cleaning up down there about twice as often.

Using a Brother ULT 2003 embroidery machine. In the middle of embroidey design if I stop machine the button to restart the machine stays red and I get the msg to "attach the embroidery frame"...

The solution is to take it to an authorized Brother dealer. It sounds like either something wrong with your embroidery hoop sensors, or more likely something is wrong with the brain of your sewing machine. Hopefully after all this time you've done just that. I'd hate to think of a ULT just sitting around collecting dust.

This is not normal operating behavior for a ULT, take it your a Brother authorized repair center so they can inspect the sensors and the program.
