Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

2 Answers

HP 9000z laptop external monitor color intermitently has green tint (red color missing) and then is ok. The laptop display is ok. I have upgraded all drivers and checked the external moniter with the same VGA cord and it shows the RGB correct color. Is this a hardware problem (pin) or an Nvida GOforce driver problem?? All help appreciated. John jtpogson@aol.com

I don't think it is a pin problem with the cable. I used the same cable and monitor with a different computer and the monitor color was ok.

My hp pavillion dv7 1245dx screen has a red tint in the background?

Your lcd screen is bad. It's either the lcd screen or the video card inside the computer, but most likely the screen. You can isolate the problem by connecting an external monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without the read and green tint then your video card inside the computer is good but your lcd screen is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same red and green tint then the video card inside the computer is bad.

It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Try plugging in an external monitor and see how the display shows on it. If the display is ok on the external then your LCD Screen is going bad. If it shows the same colors on the external monitor then your video graphics card has issues.

HP Pavilian external monitor color problem.

The easiest thing would be to check your cable for a bent or loose pin. Next put another external monitor on the laptop. The circuitry to provide video to the laptop screen and the external monitor are separate except that they share a video processor and video memory. There can be bad electronics involved.

Try a different monitor, if it is OK then your 19" monitor is faulty or the video cable is faulty.

Dell 2300mp projector, colors bad

try reseating the vga cable. Try removing the cable, the green tint should disappear meaning that the color or lack of one of the primary colors blue/red/green were missing due to bad connection. or maybe you have a bad vga cable.

There are a few possibilities here... It sounds like a Graphics Card problem. It may well be an issue on a certain resolution mode. Try changing the modes in windows control panel to see if you can replicate the problem. If you cant then it will likely be the Bios that needs an upgrade (Flash)
There is also a small chance that the LCD Cable needs to be reseated. One other tip is to plug in an external monitor and then check to see if that happens on the external monitor. If it only happens on the LCD then there wont be an issue with the graphics card and then leans towards a LCD Screen or cable problem. More diagnostics at: www.powerjackrepair.com

1 monitor is red - 1 is green

its because when you start putting to many moniter spliters the color data gets lost in the link.

Monitor color problem

there should be color adjustments in your menu.
also i don't think its the cable if its blue, cuz, if you was miss just blue it would not be blue. and if you had red and green it would not be blue. some video cards have settings to adjust the color in the driver settings or display properties. good luck.
