The KX-T7731 is just the phone. The auto attendant is controlled by the PBX. To change the message, please consult the manual for the PBX. If you don't have that manual, please reply to this post and specify the model of your PBX.
What's answering the calls, is it the Panasonic system or the central office? When you figure that out, and it's locally, then post back with the model number of your phone sytsem cabinet and whether you dial 107 or 115 ot get into voice mail, or the message is left in the central office.
If you understand that the light is a MESSAGE lamp and not a voice mail lamp, you might be able to dial the proper code to retrieve or reset the light. In a TA system that's 700 plus your own extension and # and all messages go away.
