SOURCE: the compressor fills up with air fine.AS i start

yes sounds like a defective pressure regulator, I would order a new one and replace it, pay attention to the flow direction when installing the new one, they have an arrow on them to indicate correct flow direction.

SOURCE: Craftsman compressor is weak

You probably have a restriction in the regulator. You may be able to disassemble and clean it but you'll have to relieve the tank.

I don't know how much oil to put in my air compressor

This is a really hard question to answer - not in the owners manual or elsewhere on the Internet. I think I did find the answer for future reference for other people with the same question. The parts depot for this model of compressor list a 8oz bottle of oil so that should be the maximum amount of oil to put in. Also on the subject of oil please note that this compressor uses 5W50 synthetic oil. If you use regular oil your going to have all kinds of grief with it not starting easily and causing a lot of wear on start up.

Zero outlet pressure Porter Cable C2002 type 3

The collar tends to break off of the plastic tip and falls inside the spring. I just repaired mine by epoxying the tip to a modified closet-maid wire shelf clip and stacking (3) #78 o-rings on the tip. The clip mod was a tap with a 1/4" chisel to remove the shelf hook, leaving just the "square" screw receiver. As it happened, the screw recess was the same size as the tip. Put a little epoxy into the screw recess, press the tip into it, clean any excess and let it set for an hour. Slip on the o-rings, align all the parts, thread the regulator cover back into place. O-rings are in the plumbing section at Home Depot, epoxy usually near the paints, clips near the wire shelving. Best wishes.

I have a 2 hp 4 gallon twin stack mint craft air compressor. I need the oil cap/ breather plug and also need to no how much and what kind if oil to put in the compressor

30 weight Non Detergent Air Compressor Oil is what you should use, although any 30W Non-Detergent Oil would work. Quantity wouldn't be much since it's only 2 HP. As far as the breather plug/oil cap, you caould try FD & Sons Hardware @ 866-612-5454. They showed as being a Mincraft Distributor.

Keeps blowing the breaker... only 6 months old

This compressor is small however like other brands in this size range draw 13 - 15 amps. Thats quite a bit of power. The compressor has a thermal breaker that will begin to trip if compressor is hot. I am assuming that the breaker that is tripping is the one on the compessor. I have seen many hitachi breakers fail. Easy to replace with generic 20 amp, cost about $10. Before you replace anything, check amp draw with meter, if within specs try to determine what is causing heat.
cycling too many times per hour (check manual for recommended)
low power due to weak circuit or extension cord
using generator for powering compressor (not recommended)
using low quality oil (use synthetic if hot climate)
air leaking from intank checkvalve back to pump
If no reason to overheat then replace breaker on compressor to 20 amp but watch for overheating. Good luck
