Question about Televison & Video

Most TV's don't change with daylight savings time, since they do not operate with a date, just time. You will need to change it via the remote.

This can be caused by many different things. Check power supply fuses. If ok suspect inverter board which drives screen. Check for bulging capacitors and open transformers or just find replacement cost using numbers on board. That may fixya.

The power board has failed and while possible to replace, is pretty expensive if the unit isn't under warranty. You can't get the part or schematics directly from Sharp unless your factory service. Tritronics might have it, but you'd have to check with them as to availability and price - and you'll pay retail. Secondly, I've seen malfunctioning supplies damage the control board. If you find the inverter supplies are damaged on the panel, go shopping.
Only thing I can offer in terms of repair is check the main filter caps on the secondaries of the inverter supply. If I remember correctly, they're 2200uF @ 25V and 1200uF @ 35V. They'd be "pregnant" or out of tolerance. You have to pull all of them and check with a meter to confirm.
DO NOT USE STANDARD CAPS. You MUST use caps rated for high heat (105 degrees C) and high ESR. They're designed to handle the frequency used for the supply and don't drift as the set plays. MCM offers these caps in their components section.
